First of all, be honest. Try and find a witness. It is hard to beat a ticket. Most judges side with the officer. Be prepared when you go to court. Write down the things you want to ask the officer. Like, where was he when you crossed the intersection. Did he have a good view of the light. Maybe even go and take pictures of the intersection or have a diagram. Being prepared is the best solution.

Even if the light was yellow, you could still get ticketed. You entered an intersection with the knowledge that the light was changing to red because the light was yellow. Basic driving knowledge. Lesson learned. Pay the fine and don't do it again. That's how accidents happen and people get killed, stupid.

Get the officer to testify. Show how he did not see what he thought he saw.
Ask the officer to admit that he does not have witnesses, photos or videos. Ask him to admit he has no proof that a violation occurred.

Simply tell your story but don't plan on getting away with it if the light was yellow!

Through a lawyer.
Lacking that, have a witness with more credibility than the officer.
