Having read a few comments from people here, some think that a predominantly atheist world would be communist.

So if you believe this, why so?

And if you don't, why not?

Are you a red atheist?

I'm not. I'm a capitalist atheist for sure.

As one who's been an activist for over 15 years, president of my state organization and served on the Atheist Alliance International Board of Directors, I can say unequivocally NO. By far, the majorty of atheists in the USA and probably worldwide are capitalists.

I am neither a communist-atheist nor capitalist-atheist. I am just an atheist. I fail to see why atheism would automatically be tied to any form of socio-economic or political thought. An atheist simply does not believe in a god.

As for the labeling, so what if one is a communist or a capitalist. Whoopee-do. What makes either or both systems suck is not so much the ideology, but the people who manipulate the systems to their own benefit. Under strict communism, who the hell wants a centralized government running their lives? Under unbridled capitalism, who the hell wants an inevitable plutocracy and a society guided by vulgar pecuniary values?

I am a Liberal atheist, and as such, I will help whomever I can, whenever I can! I am not a communist! I am not wealthy by any means, but I believe in charity!
Now, I truly believe that Republicans are communists! They are against social programs! (it might part them from their money!)they are so busy being worried about who is going to spend their money, that they forget to help their fellow man!
Capitalism is one thing, and being well to do, is one thing, but if you so selfish that you can not help anyone else? How is that considered to be a ' good christian' which is what they claim to be!
Now, they are always saying that all liberals are bad, I am not saying that all Rep's, are selfish, or commies!

The shoe being on the other foot,is not very comfortable, huh Rep' con's?
I am proud to be a bleeding heart liberal atheist!

I'm a capitalist atheist as well, and a deficit hawk to boot.

I also believe that we have a Constitutional right to bear arms, and I'm generally unpersuaded by arguments for affirmative action. I think that it might well be a mistake for us to withdraw from Iraq quickly, and I don't think that race and gender issues are the most important issues facing us.

I'd think that hearing that, the Republicans would assume that I was on their side, but in fact, I'll never vote Republican. If I thought the party would listen, I'd love to have the opportunity to explain to them why I wouldn't.

I'm Atheist and I'm Liberal, but I am nowhere near a Communist.

The ironic thing was that early Christians would be classed as Communists by today's standards.

I'm a libertarian.

I think many atheists have socialists tendencies, but socialism is also compatible with many religious doctrines. Early Christianity was most likely a commune-like existence.

Liberal, I guess, although I do believe in the death penalty.

(A liberal being a leftist who opposes communism, among other things.)

And a capitalist by my very existence, of course! My job, my hobby, my ambitions, everything I own... all capitalism.
