It is said that blacks shouldn't wash their hair everyday because black hair needs oil. It has less sebum than white hair so excessive shampooing can dry out the hair and scalp.
This also depends on the texture of hair that you have. As we know, all black folks don't look the same and we definitely don't all have the same hair texture. You don't have to use shampoo in your hair everyday. Try wetting you hair with warm water, use a good conditioner, and then rinse it out well. This will keep your curly style looking fresh without removing the oils from your hair. You can also use this method, but instead of using a conditioner that you rinse out, use a leave in conditioner, like Infusium 23. As for your hair falling out, try using a wide tooth comb. Black hair breaks easier than white hair. Try not to tug and pull at your hair. It is normal to loose a small amount of hair everyday, because we constantly have new hair growing. But if you think it is an excessive amount, you might want to consult with a professional hair care technician.
Good luck.

Spray it with water when you're styling it on the second day. See if that doesn't perk up the curly look.
Personally, I think people wash their hair way too much. I can keep mine (thin, just a little body) looking nice for 4 days. Of course, if I exercise or do some heavy labor, I wash it just because I sweat so much.

I HAD the same problem! I wet my hair daily in order to maintain my curly style (I don't shampoo daily its too drying).
But when I comb it would always break...alot! I recently used this leave in conditioner by AVON(Advance Tecniques; Intense Repair Fortifying Spray w/ Breakage Sheild) My hair has stopped breaking when its wet ...TRULY!! I am able to keep my style and sometimes I just spray areas to refresh the curls instead of re-washing; It even enhances the curl and does away with frizz! You MUST try this!

My girlfriend is black and she only washes her hair every few days, if she can help it, because it literally takes up to two hours for it to completely dry and that is with a hair dryer.
Personally, I have to wash my hair every day because if I don't my hair gets all greasy and clumpy and I start feeling all dirty and slimy. I can sometimes go a day without washing it, depending on what I do, but any longer than that and I start feeling it.

Shampooing your hair everyday when you wash it causes the chemicals to deposit in your scalp which could lead to dryness and falling out. To top it, if you blow-dry your hair everyday after washing it tends to cause more hair loss due to the constant heat your hair is subject to. Try washing your hair every other day with a shampoo that's slightly stronger than a mild, everyday shampoo like Pantene or Tigi. Allow it to air dry. It might help.
