I feel "To each their own". Whatever brings you closer to God and/or a feeling of peace. If that means not believing in anything, then fine...you should be allowed that as well. If taking a walk every Sunday in the woods makes you feel closer to God and you see that as your "church", then great. People put too much emphasis on the "religion" aspect of it and too little on the spirituality of it all. Just feel connected to something, even if that is just other people or the world around us.

I find it interesting that religions, practiced enmass, are so often divisive.
Contrast religions to Money. Most people think "money is an evil"... but the pursuit of money brings people together; working for a common goal. I've seen people of varied faiths working cooperatively, and happily, when there was money to be made.
Conversly, people say "God is great & loving"; while in practice they use God (by whatever reference they prefer) to attack one another.
Seems backwards to me.
Noteworthy, though... I've known any of the various religions to work very well for Individuals who adopt them. The problem seems to arise when practice enmass.

Religion is, basically, a form of worship. It includes a system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices. That being said, my position would depend upon the "religion." My stance is that it is not inherently bad and can be a force for good.

My stance is probably a combination of like a back-cat stance and a lunging crane. I find it easiest to defend myself that way.
Religion is a dangerous field.

I'm rather neutral to it. It does some people a lot of good, and I believe everyone should be allowed to practice their religion if they choose. However, I don't believe religion should influence law at all, and I'd rather not have other people's religions shoved in my face.

I need strength to get thru life. Jesus and God are my strength. I pray on my knees (for more of the power of God ) and I soar thru my day like wings of eagles. They, with the help of the Holy Spirit, have gotten me thru college, kept me from being hit by a train and running over a deer. They have helped me get married. Jesus has healed and restored me soo many times I can't even count them all. They give me joy and comfort when I am alone. They have given me wisdom and understanding and blessings and love. God Bless.

I believe religion is man made rituals, rules and regulations on how to worship God. Christianity (in it's true form) is accepting Christ, repenting of your sins, following his teachings and commandments of love God with your whole being and love others. Christianity and religion are not one in the same. Christianity I love because it is all about Christ. Religion I want nothing to do with.

Everyone should be free to worship or not worship as they please
Religion is personal and subjective. Therefore it should not influence public policy or scientific study.
Everyone should be free to discuss, debate, deny religion as they so choose but with respect and no malice.
Government should respect but not favor any one religious ideal. It should remain unbiased and secular.
No one religion should be allowed to dictate or force its beliefs on everyone.

"It is known to God and myself alone. It's evidence before the world is to be sought in my life: If it has been honest and dutiful to society the religion which has regulated it cannot be a bad one". Thomas Jefferson
That about sums it up.

religion, i believe it has it's purpose. but, to build a belief structure on something as larger as God, well, it's dangerous, people have died to prove or disapprove him, died to try and see what religion is better, what God is stronger. i think it's a great idea to believe in something bigger than yourself, now to worship it, i don't know. most people are willing to die for their believes, to kill for them and some even worst... i just don't thinks it's that good of an idea to hand that much power over.. my opinion.
