Chihuahua/Puppy Growth?

Question

Does anyone know about how big a 5 week old, 1 pound chihuahua will be as an adult? Also a chihuahua that was 2 ounces at birth? The two are litter mates that were found and I just wanted an estimate. Thanks!

I'd say no more than 8 pounds.
I have a puppy shih tzu and she's only 6 months and 10 pounds. chihuhahas are much smaller so that's my guess as a full grown dog.

The Chihuahua Weight Chart is great to use as a guideline to estimate a mature weight within a quarter of a pound or so. This table is used only as a guide, as many things can affect the mature weight of a puppy. Weight may vary depending on its bloodline, genetics, how well the animal is fed, etc. Weight estimates before the age of 8 weeks old are often inaccurate because the puppy is still nursing or being weaned and may be heavier due to fat from the mother's rich milk. This weight chart only works with purebred Chihuahuas. The weight chart is from a book called "The Complete Chihuahua Encyclopedia" by Hilary Harmar, Pub. 1972, Arco Publishing Co., Inc.

the 1 pounder at 5 weeks=4-4 1/2 pounds as an adult
2 oz at birth=2 pounds

However they say its more accurate the older they get esp. if they were in a large litter as they tend to be smaller the more puppies there are.

my pup is 3 pounds and she is 10 weeks old my vet said that she will be 5-6 pounds when she grows up! i know that doesnt tell you anything but maybe it will help a lil.

I have 3 chihuahuas. I would say normally around 4-6 pounds full grown unless they are "teacups".
