If I interpret your definition of "sport" correctly, then, running through the inner city with the wrong gang colors could also be called a sport. Right? Ridiculous. While I will agree the auto racing is a sport, I hesitate to call NASCAR much of a sport. The rules are pretty much made up as the monarchs of NASCAR see fit. Many times what applies to one driver doesn't apply to another. There is very little competition outside of the half dozen or so heavily funded teams.
I really can't understand how you can say it is more of a sport than football, or baseball. You obviously have little understanding of the whole concept of competition.

It's a NASCAR race, not a NASCAR sport. The same way you have a 1000 meter race at the Olympics and not a 1000 meter sport. NASCAR is a race and not a game like football, not because of the athletic nature or the pursute of victory but because of the nature of the english language

I agree, NASCAR is a sport.
Football and baseball are sports as well.
Auto racing, Mountain climbing, bull riding, football and baseball are all physically demanding. You have to workout, eat right and go through extensive training to participate in those activities. Out of all of those listed, I LOVE NASCAR!!!!! It's my kind of race!!!!!

I agree that Nascar is a sport!!! I don't agree with you when you say all the others are just games. Football and Baseball are both sports too. Just because the word "game" is there doesn't make it a sport!!! I'm not even understanding what the heck i'm writing, cuz i don't really understand the question!!!
I do know that Nascar is a Great Sport with Great Fans!!!

That's not how it goes. One is a ball game, where grown men chase a ball around a field, one guy usually throws it or hits it then they all go chasing it. The other sport is called Motorsports, where men have to use technology to build a better machine for competition and then have the ability to make the machine perform at it's optimum capacity while competing against other men. And also Mountain biking rules!

From Wikipedia & I quote. Ahem...
Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors.
So by like defenition, all the things you like mentioned are like sports. You know?
Somehow, I'm sure you don't.

they are called sports because it requires you to to do things athletic like in nascar you probably don't know how hot it gets in those cars do you? and how they have to be careful of every move they make racing like that is exhausting and another reason why nascar is a sport its because nascar racing is a form of athletic racing and it may not look like a sport but if something requires you to do things that involve getting physical its a sport

I agree with Broncosox. All are sports, although NASCAR is VERY cool.
Anybody who likes NASCAR and the Broncos can't be all bad.

NASCAR is a sport, so is football, baseball, basketball, etc....they are people competing for their paychecks as well as our enjoyment. I like to think that all professional "games" are sports...

I'm guessing con"c"idered is some sort of new hard cider to drink. I'm with Sally B, stay in school, learn how to spell, and educate yourself so you don't have to use the word "like" where inappropriate. This makes me wish I wasn't a NASCAR fan.
