If I was in an accident then got a new policy months later. Which company would pay for medical expenses currently for injuries related to the past accident?

Depending on what coverages you were paying for and what company you were with at the time of the accident, and ofcourse if you were at fault or not at fault.
Also it is very important that you stay with the company until the claim is closed, because if you cancel sometimes they may not pay your claim.

The insurance carrier you had at the time of the accident is the one that would pay if your policy covered the expense type. If the other party was at fault and its a medical expense and you haven't used up the full coverage amount, the other persons carrier.

Under no circumstances would the new carrier be responsible for covering any expense from a accident prior to their policy being in effect.

the old company would because they were the ones who you were with whenever the accident occured. Why did you switch insurance companies?
