Why are we so mad about Latino Immigrants coming here. They are not stealing ´´our lands´´ or killing us. They just come here to work hard, and that makes our nation a great nation. Can somebody please let me know what in the world are we afraid of?

Your initial premise is incomplete. Europeans not only stole land from Native Americans, but Africans, Australians, Chinese,
Vietnamese, Indians (asian), Pacific islanders, Asian,...practically everyone else on the planet with the sole exception of the Japanese. The Japanese were always strong enough to dissuade europeans from attempting conquest.

We stole the land from our indians and hispanics fair and square during the Mexican War. Of course the Mexicans had stolen it from the Indians, and the Indians had stolen it from pre-existing indians...

And in many ways I agree with you that MOST come here to work hard to make a living. However large numbers swamp the social services offered by individual communities that must raise taxes to deal with the influx of immigrants.

If we want to talk history,we should include the fact that mexicans also killed and stole from the native Americans and also native Americans were killing each other and taking land before whites ever came. That is history, not the present.

I have no problem with immigrants coming so long as they come legally, show respect and assimilate.
The illegals are coming to invade and take what they can, what they're doing isn't immigration,it's an act of war. They are stealing from us,pushing their culture and killing us off. More Americans die from illegals than in the Iraq war. That's why we're angry and people like you will not see it until it truly effects you and you are surrounded by it.

Get off it. I didn't invade and kill an Indian or steal anything. I don't have to pay the price for something I didn't do. They do kill our citizens....are you totally ignorant to the news? We've had more innocent citizens killed by illegals than soldiers in the war. Not to mention tons of rapes of women and children. They aren't all here to work hard........we have an entire underground of corruption. Human smuggling, drugs, prostitution, fake documents and a host of other things. They are turning my country into a nightmare of crime and violence. They aren't settling in and settling down......it gets worse and worse every day. If that doesn't scare you then I don't know what will.

The main problem with the illegal aliens is they are illegal. The United States is a land of laws we expect to be obeyed and violators to be prosecuted for noncompliance. The illegal aliens violating our immigration laws have become criminals. Laws have changed and the period of time you are referring to were based on the standards of those day. Maybe in another 50 or hundred years the laws may change and immigration will be a thing of the past but until our laws change the illegal aliens are criminals and need to be removed from our country.

This is probably the stupidest argument that people put up here. You really should be ashamed if this is your very best point. People have murdered for generations, does that mean we should stand up against murder? People have raped and pillaged...does that mean we can't argue against rape. Our ancestors (ALL of them) were advocates for wars of conquest...does that mean we have no right to speak out for peace.

Laws have been made. Of COURSE we can complain about those who are here against our laws and perverting our system...taking opportunities away from our own poor and the poor of other lands.

Illegals don't come here just "to work hard". They come here, illegally, to reap benefit from a system to which they are not entitled. Of course we can complain. What are we afraid of? That we can't enforce our own laws and our own borders. We are being stolen from by thieves...it's our responsibilty and RIGHT to do something about it.

Ridiculous

We did not steal land from the Indians - it was traded or won in wars. We are not afraid of anything, but for one group of people to invade my country and break laws with impunity elevates them to a higher class than taxpaying citizens. We have plenty of Americans who can work hard. We do not need a slave underclass.

If I worked hard to rob a bank would it be okay?

I don't know about you but I am white & "I" have not killed or stole land from any Native American. Watch where you plop that blame thank you very much.

With that being said, I have absolutely no problem with immigrants from any country coming here as long as they respect our sovereignty, integrate into our culture and obey our laws.

"We" didn't do anything. None of us alive today were alive during past settlement, colonization, or wars. I do not look at my British friends and demand things of them because they oppressed some of my ancestors, hundreds of years ago. That's futile to try to use history as a means of justifying current responsibility and actions.

I was born into a nation that already existed, and as such, I am a citizen of that nation. I was raised to respect that nation & its laws. And, I also show respect to other countries and their laws. All I ask is that others show that same courtesy.

Immigrants have already sent over 20 billion dollars to Mexico. US Taxpayers are paying for education, health insurance and stays at federal prisons.

Immigration is good when it benefits the new country of the immigrant. It is NOT good when it benefits the immigrants country of origin. It's leeching our system which is not good by any measure.

I think we're afraid that they may strain our resources (police, hospitals, social services, schools) to the limit. We're also afraid that they may lower wages for everyone, because they're often willing to work for less.

As far as the Native American analogy, what whites did wasn't right, but it doesn't have much to do with the issue at hand.
