I made some chili and dumped in an entire can of chipotle peppers in adoboe sauce, not realizing how HOTT they were. Is there some way to cool this down? Something to add? Some recipe to turn it into. IT is flamin' HOTT!

You can avoid simply throwing it away by freezing it in small containers and using it sparingly to rock the next batch, and the next, and the next...uh-potatoes? (gimme a break here)

Add in equal parts tomatoe saice and water with a pinch of sugar. ( 8oz can of tomato sauce 8oz water) That will cut the heat. If the chili become too thin, add in 1tsp of corn starch. If it is still too hot, try adding a can of pinto beans. The beans will soak up a lot of flavor. Just remember, the longer you let the chili simmer the hotter (spicer) it will get. You can also try serving the chili with tortillas or cornbread, or over corn chips. That also helps cool it down. Last resort you can top off your killer chili with one or more of the following, sour cream, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, crushed tortilla chips.

Sugar is what I use in my chili when it's too hot, but I don't use chipotle though, but it should help, just don't overcompensate and make it too bland, you might want to take most of the heat off but leave some for those who like it that way and have a sugar bowl on the table so each person can adjust theirs accordingly.

Full-fat dairy is the trick for reducing hot peppers.

Try melting a bunch of cheese in the bowl and/or add a big blob of full-fat sour cream. If it's still too hot, you could consider using it as an ingredient in enchiladas with lots of cheese and sour cream, plus maybe some cooked chicken.

these suggestions are great but if you want the same flavor of your chili you can also just add more of the ingredients that you used to make the chili in the first place; ie, meat, beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, ect then you can calm it down & still get the flavor that you wanted in the first place

Add tomato and lemon juice or 1 pint of Sadaf Yogurt cheese it will really change and lowers the temp - if you go with the tomato it will be good as is if you add the yogurt cheese make enchiladas. Good Luck!

I'd probably just looove it that way, but . . .
If you grate some potatoes in it and add a little more liquid it will cool it down, but still be spicy.
Also, put a dollop of sour cream in it when you serve!

I know this sounds odd but it works - grate some chocolate and add it to the chili.

ughh.. this is probaly really wrong but milk like reverses the effects of any 'hot' food. my brother hates 'hot' foods & he drinks milk at dinner & says the spicyness goes away like that
