I'm wondering how much it would cost to hire a contractor to install a wood burning stove in my house. I would like to install it on the 2nd floor of a 2 story house. The unit would be installed against a wall with an outdoor exposure. The house is in the suburbs of New York.

Just looking for a cost estimate, not for unrelated information on building codes or zoning or any of that.

Thanks.

No way to answer that question with any precision . What kind of stove? Will it tie into the chimney? do you have a chimney? Is the stove a direct vent? How many feet of triple wall stove pipe will you need ? how far above roof line does it need to extend ? Will your floor support the weight?? I What kind of siding ? Inside walls?I believe your question is way too generic to trust any response!!! Do you want guesswork?

Use your phone and the yellow pages. You will need to know the roof pitch, floor joist weight limits, insulation, etc.
