I like the Kraft food website.. kraftfoodandfamily.com
There they have all kinds of easy recipies to start. I especially like the meatloaf with the stove top stuffing added to the meat mixture.. It's moist, seasoned and super easy ! They have 5 or 6 variations of the same recipie using different stove top seasonings....
They also have really impressive super easy desserts.. For Easter I made a Strawberry swirl cake using strawberry jello, cool whip, sour cream, boxed cake mix and fresh strawberries and powdered sugar.. It was super easy and it looked beautiful !!!
I have an enchillada recipie that's pretty easy..
1 box spanish rice mix (make according to directions)
add 1 small diced, onion, green pepper and a can of drained whole kernel corn
Ground been crumbled cooked and drained
taco seasoning
1 jar salsa or enchillada sauce
1 pkg. 12 burrito sized tortillas
1 lb shredded mexican or cheddar cheese
sour cream
Mix cooked ground beef w/ taco seasoning and stir into rice mixture..
Fill tortillas fold in edges and roll.. put into greased 9x13 inch baking dish.. seam side down..
Pour jar of salsa over the top..Bake for 25 min.... top with cheese and bake another 5 until cheese melts...
top w/ sour cream and serve....
*you can adjust the seasonings by adding canned diced pickled jalepeno's, seasoned tomtoes or using different kinds of salsa or sauce... This dish freezes really well...Serve with refriend beans/ sweet corn cake
If you have a crock pot you can make BBQ pork.. 3-4 lbs. pork roast.. Brown on all sides and add to warm crock pot...
Cover with beef broth.. Set on High 6 hours.. Remove from crock pot and drain crock pot.... Shread meat with 2 forks add back to warm empty crock pot... Pour jar of favorite BBQ sauce and cook 1-2 hours.... Serve on buns with cole slaw on the side and baked beans...
Try that website if you sign up/or register you get a really nice magazine for free.. With all the recipies .Good luck..

I think baking is the easiest thing to do in cooking. You can start with a box cake mix. Or Rice Krispie treats are super easy to make:
6 Cups of Rice Cereal
1 bag of mini marshmallows
1/2 stick of butter
Melt the butter and the marshmallows in a pot over medium heat. Stir continuously until melted. If it's turning brown before it's melted, reduce heat.
Once melted, remove from heat and quickly mix in cereal. Spread in a pan (9x13 works well)

Some hate her, some love her...but start watching Rachael Ray. She is great for beginners! Most everything she makes is easy and simply prepared. You need a set of good cookware and knives. cooking can suck if you don't have that! start small...don't try to master a quiche your first time out....start with the basics.
Other than very specific advice, that's about all I can offer. If you would like to hear more specifics, feel free to email me. I would love to chat!
Good luck....oh...and HAVE FUN! It's not supposed to be painful!

My advise on starting is to get a recipe book on a beginners level. Follow the recipe book to the letter and you will be cooking in no time. A lot of products have recipes on the box or can of what ever you may be cooking. Stay calm and have a good time.

Try a dish that is simple, llike Baked Ziti. Just mix everything and put it in the oven. Experiment with what you like and you'll get the hang of it. Good luck!
