Well, it's a cruel sport in which a matador is to kill a bull; but he taunts and teases it with the cape until he can stick a few sticks with blades on the end into his shoulders. These sticks flop back and forth until the blades sever the neck muscles. When the bull's head hangs low enough due to the severed muscles, then the matador kills it with his sword by plunging it down between the shoulders into the heart. Then everyone cheers at how "brave" he is.

A bull enters the arena.
"SNORT, SNORT!" says the bull. The matador looks on, tempting it with his red cape and saber.
"CHARGE!" the bull lumbers forth, stabbing with its sharp horns.
"OOF!" says the too-slow matador, as he is anally pierced by a bull horn.
The backup matador enters the arena, saber in his hand. Undaunted by his comrade leaking feces-infused blood onto the sands of the arena, he eyes the bull and beckons him forth.
"CHARGE!" the bull lumbers again, but this matador is prepared. He sidesteps and impales the bull between the eyes with the saber. A twitch, a few gasps of breath, and the bull falls over dead.
The victorious matador strides confidently out to the catina in search of a cold cerveza and some loose women, while the ailing matador crawls his way out in search of medical assistance.

It´s alive and well in the Spanish speaking countries and the South of France.Incidentally, bull fighting is a spectacle,not a sport.
