I honestly believe that the Bible is the word of God, but all through time God has been reaching out to people even before the bible existed, so you can still be a Christian. However, I beg you to give the bible another chance because God wants us to use the resources he has given us to make things easier. Maybe join a bible study or get a private devotional book to take part in for a while. Whatever happens, I hope that you keep your faith in God and that your relationship with him grows everyday. Good Luck!

I'm not Christian but Christians believe that the bible is the word of god. If you don't believe that, then you technically aren't Christian. Lots of other religions believe in god. Maybe you should do some research and find a religion that has beliefs more closely aligned to yours.
I feel I'm a very spiritual person but don't agree with a lot of things that Christians believe. Whether I believe in god or not is irrelevant - the fact that I don't believe what they believe means I'm not Christian. I did some research and found a religion that was in line with a lot of morals, ethics and beliefs I already held in high regard in my life. It's a much better fit.

The Bible is the result of divine intervention from God. What must you do to be a Christian? Only believe that Jesus died on the cross for you sins and arose again after three days. Pray for forgiveness and include the above statement to be accepted into His kingdom John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believieth in him should never perish but have everlasting life."

I've been to church maybe 7 or 8 times in my life. I never found the "church-going" lifestyle for me. I still believe in God, however, and keep a Bible on my nightstand. I've never read the whole thing through, but I do refer to it sometimes when I get in sticky situations or I'm having an extremely good day.
I also believe that you can pick and choose what parts appeal to you. Because, frankly, some of it just seems plain out ridiculous.

In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word is God so if he is the word and you do not believe his word you are saying you do not believe him, thats why they are saying that you are not a christian, you have alot of questions and the one who can give you the answers is god asking him to reveal truth to you instead of asking all these people, your answers do not lie in them they rely in God so seek him and get your answers, not people Be Blessed Cindy, Lisa

I have no right to tell you if you are a Christian or not. But if you do not believe the bible, may I encourage you, as a friend, to find a good bible teaching church? The bible is the foundation that a Christian needs to build their life on. It is God's word to us, and we need to know that.
That you do not believe the bible tells me that, perhaps, you have not studied it in a good bible study. Please pursue this, because it's extremely important, in this time we are living, to have a solid foundation under us, the word of God.

Who do you say Jesus is? Is he the Christ, the son of the Living God? And that he is the one who died to pay the penalty for sin, the world's sin, your sin as well? If you believe that he is and that he is your Lord and Savior, then you are Christian. But if you believe all this, then how can you reject the Bible which tells us of Jesus and God's plan to bring him into the world?
My guess is that you don't believe these things about Jesus, for then you would also believe the Bible and if you do not believe these things then you are not Christian. There are plenty of people who believe there is a God. Satan believes there is a God, he also believes there is a Christ, but he does not believe IN them, ie, he does not follow them. He is not a Christian.

If you don't agree with the basic Christian doctrine as explained in the Bible, then you can't honestly claim to be a Christian.
Take a Christian doctrine test.

Then click at the bottom to see the Answers page, and at the bottom of the Answers page, you can click to see a page talking about the essential doctrines of Christianity.
A Christian is a person who has entered into relationship with God on HIS terms. To understand more of what I mean, take this quiz:

Whether YOU are a Christian or not, I am in no position to judge. But I can explain the logics that a person could use to exclude someone with your beliefs from being a Christian...
A person who belives in God is a Theist, but not necessarily a Christian. To be a Christian one has to accept and follow the teachings Jesus Christ - the only source for which is the Bible.
So it is difficult to be someone who accepts the teaching of Jesus in the Bible, but rejects the teachings of the Bible at the same time. It is difficult to be a "Christian" yet reject the teachings of Christ.

Lots of Christians like to tell other people that they aren't "real" Christians. The answers to this post will be proof of it.
If you're comfortable with your faith as you understand it and practice it, don't worry about what other people say.
Thomas Jefferson cut up the Gospels to isolate the parts that focused on Jesus' life and teachings, because he thought the rest just distracted from Jesus' message. People called Jefferson a "howling atheist" in his day, yet it didn't deter him from believing in God and Jesus in his own way. That's something for you to take heart in.
