It could be something to do with her hearing. dogs can behave a bit strangely like that when they start to have hearing problems as they get older or get ear infections. I would get her checked out soon, in case she is in any pain.

Yes, VET FIRST.
On the way there, check her paw pads--with the weather getting colder, it means more 'stuff' is falling to the ground and the chances of something getting into or between her paw pads especially on 3 mile walks could be a possibility.( By the way, bless you for that great walk for her! One of the reasons she has made it to 10 years is due to your dedication in giving her those walks!)
Also, try to think back to every little thing (even if you think it insignificant) that took place within 24 hours of her behavior change. This will help distract you from worry, and also you will be better prepared information-wise--the more info the vet has to go on, the better the chance she has to get the correct diagnosis.
Keep us posted, hope she is better and back to being a 'wigglebutt' soon! Woof.
Oops, person right before me, 'vet tech'..Anyone who works with dogs would be irresposible if they did NOT recommend ruling out possible physical reasons FIRST. Especially with this poor dog doing a complete 360 degree behavior wise. Sorry, my opinion only.

OK!!!!! here's what you do- Take her to the vet.
2 days of crying surely sounds to me like something is WRONG!!!!! YES, maybe she is just getting old and has arthritis or something, but if she is in PAIN I'm sure you would like the vet to give her MEDICINE to help her feel BETTER!!!! And no, daily walks in general are not BAD for her health, but again, if she is in PAIN she might not want to go for a walk RIGHT NOW!!!!

Maybe walking her is causing pain in her legs or joints. Like we get pain in our legs. Give her a break for a couple days.
Also, start giving her adult dog vitamins, if you are not already.
You also want to check her ears, make sure they are clean. Otherwise could be an infection.
Make sure stool is hard. If soft could be an internal infection.
Check the obvious, make sure she is eating and drinking.
Feel around her body for possible areas of pain. Message her stomach, legs, back, find out where it hurts. You might be able to pin point the problem before going or calling to the vet.
And give her extra TLC.... as I'm sure you are.
If after a couple days of monitoring, and it doesn't get better. Take her to the vet.
Use your gut instinct. Your her momma!!

I would say that there is something not right and the Vet needs to see your dog. The poor girl is 10 years old, she is trying to tell you that something is wrong and she needs help. Call your Vet and take her in.

Please take her to the vet. What you are describing is not normal and needs to be checked out. There are a lot of things that could be going on here. She could be in pain, she could be starting to go into liver or kidney failure, she could even be suffering from canine dementia. Your vet will be able to give you a MUCH better idea of what's going on here than anyone here.

I think you need to take her to the vet and be able to answer any questions they might ask. If your dog cries during the walks, you might want to give her a rest

Calling your vet might be a good idea. Espically becuase you make is sound like this is not normal. Any drastic change in behavior and I call my vet. She could be sick and needs attention.

You should take your dog to the vet. She might have hurt her paw. Or something else might be going on.
