I can't believe the overabundance of answers to this question that have completely failed to address the point.

Q: "Christians, is your deity perfect, despite overwhelming evidence that the behavior you attribute to him contradicts his supposed perfect nature?"

A: "God is perfect!!!! Read the BIBLE!!!"

Wow. Circular reasoning, anyone?

The problem with both of these answers is that they are looking at God in a way we look at humans. God is all powerful, therefore if he does something it is not a mistake. This does not mean God is imperfect, it simply means that God rules the universe and what God says goes.
We also have to be careful not to judge a 'mistake' from a human point of view. There are alot of things that God does that we cannot begin to understand. The reason for this is that he is just so much bigger than us that our tiny brains, no matter how amazing, are no comparison.

If a perfect watch maker WANTED to make an imperfect watch, he could. He could make it any way he wanted. Being perfect would just mean that he also had the option to make it perfect.

But the real question is: does (or did) God make a mistake? No. The world that he put together is exactly what is needed to accomplish the purposes for which he created it. But since neither you nor I are "omniscience" like him, and can see the total plan and what is needed for it to work, it is easy for us to be confused by his design.

If He gave us the choise of right or wrong, we could chose to have the time wrong, just to spite Him...but He is no less perfect because we are.

It is we who must make amends. Turn to the Creator, and study His Word to show yourself ready for an eternity of perfect good!

There are things God cannot do. The Bible says He can NOT lie, for example. That's why so much is a "mystery", because He doesn't tell "white lies" as we mortals do.

Yet He is perfect, as we will be, when we see Him in the after-life.

Crommie,
You could not read the scripture and understand it anyway. Our GOD is AWESOME. He has never made any mistakes. HE sent HIS SON who died so that YOU and I would have an opportunity to be in Heaven. YOU must make the choice and at this time I can not see you as being Ready to do so. Satan is the reason that some are "imperfect". BUT, as said, You could not understand that so... Have a nice day and a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

Are you so sure that making imperfect humans is a mistake? If so, then you are a mistake (and so am I).

God can make mistakes. He can do anything. But having the ability to make mistakes and actually making them are 2 different things.

Ah, you have all of it found out have not you? properly, my finite minded chum, interior the organising all replaced into appropriate, specific, even devil. He was once an angel in spite of everything. Then he desperate that, good, he could evaluate and motive to boot as God, so why not undertaking God, why now not be God? And that was once the 1st step he took, much like the step you're taking now. Then the entire element grew to become imperfect. Our egotism and selfishness created a merciless, imperfect worldwide.

Answer 1: Yes, He can make mistakes Says who? You?

Answer 2: No, He can't make mistakes...... This much is true, you should have stopped here.

God didn't make mistakes, we have. Starting with Adam to me, we have all made mistakes, Jesus didn't and that is how we are justified before God; if you put your faith in Christ.

To answer the main question: No, God doesn't make mistakes because He is perfect. What don't you understand about PERFECT?

Ok...you're logic is lacking, but I think I see where you are headed...

It is impossible for God to be anything but perfect, according to his standards.

As many times as he may try, God will always fail to make a mistake.
