I also have a yorkie that needs to gain weight. She eats alot and her digestive patterns are normal. I recently talked to my vet to see what I could do and he told me to put Olive oil in with her food. In my case my dog wouldn't eat the food so the vet said that he recently had a case where a dog wasn't gaining weight and they did some test and it turned out that the dog had a pancreatic difficiency and was put on a powder supplement. My little yorkie is going to the vet next week to see if that is what is wrong. You might want to phone your local vet to check and see if that is the same reason why your dog won't gain weight.

Hey! Make sure your Yorkie is eating nutritious food.

For example my active boxer needs more nutrition than my less active bullmastiff.......so if your Yorkie is so active, and burns off all those calories, he really needs to have a better diet.

I have a Yorkie. Take him to the vet for a check up. You may need a fatty supplement that it's not getting from food. Weight loss in a dog is always cause for a vet appointment, even if you don't notice it being lethargic.

Contact your vet. They might put him on a higher calorie diet... might recommend giving him more dog treats throughout the day, etc.

Be careful tho, these are small framed dogs, and it might be best for the dog if he does stay thin, so that when he ages, he won't have excess weight on his frame and thus causing a shorter life span.

NEVER, EVER, EVER give your dog table food!! This causes a bad habit of begging, and the food that you are eating is not meant to be for the dog.

Increase fat and calorie intake.

See vet for possible medical causes for inability to keep weight.
