I know the story your parents tell you when you eat gum, 'Swallow it and it will tangle itself inside your intestines and you'll die', but will anything happen if I do swallow gum?

Everything in bubblegum is non-toxic. What can't be digested will just be passed out of the body. Gum does NOT stay in your stomach for 7 years, that's a myth.

You will be fine, the risk of swallowing chewing gum is more to do with choking, people swallow their gum accidentally all the time, some even do it intentionally. I too am a bit of a hypochondriac and worry about every single pain or ache I get, but the more you worry the more you will work yourself up more. Just relax, if anything bad was going to happen it would have happened by now.

Nothing will happen if you swallow chewing gum. It will come out at some point when you visit the bathroom.

Actually no. Everyone always says "Oh it sticks to your insides for 7 years" But scientific evidence shows that it doesn't make a difference. I saw it on the news about 4 years ago. I'm not sad remembering the news from that time. Trust me!

Absolutely...NOT. There is no link between swallowing gum and any adverse health problems. I dont reccomend making a habit of it, but once in awhile wont hurt you.

No, I had always heard that if you swallow gum it will take five years to digest but on that show mythbusters they proved that to be fake.

I think it may be more difficult for your body to digest, but it's nothing you'll notice. The 7 year story is totally a myth. You'll be fine. :)

That's a very old myth.

Nothing will happen to you. You have an incredible amount of good acid in your stomach. No, you can't feel it, but it breaks down everything you eat so that it can go through your intestines and...well, you know....you poop it out.
