God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They are 3 aspects of the same God. Exactly how this 3 = 1 works is too big for a human mind to understand, but we are called by the Church to believe it is true.
God the Father sent God the Son to become human. When He was born, Mary named Him Jesus. When He died, God the Holy Spirit permeated the world, making all of us heirs to God's Kingdom through Jesus.
You're welcome, pumpkin.

Imagine a triangle. The three points cannot be separated from each other, yet they are each their own point: hence the trinity. The three points are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The entirety of the triangle is God.
It's not really something that an easy explanation can be given to; it's just complex, plain and simple :/

The Trinity is based on Hellenistic philosophy, and basically states that God is one universal (ousia, physis, essence, nature), and three particulars (hypostasis, prosopon, pragma, being, person, thing). The early Church was Aristotelian, and did not believe that universals were actually things (with ontological status). The only exception they made was with regard to the Trinity.
All human beings share a common essence, meaning we all belong to the same category. But each individual person is an independent being. Now imagine if all of us shared a common will, and were not separated from each other by space or time. That, in essence, is the doctrine of the Trinity.
The idea that God is one being with three functions or personalities is Sabellianism (see below). The idea that God is three separate, but identical beings is Arianism.

Okay , there's this one guy called the father , the next guy is called the son , but he's not the son of the father . It was the third guy, the ghost who did the dirty work .
Now , the funny part is that they're all the same guy . Some people try to explain it by using an egg . Okay , we all agree he's a good egg . The Irish people used leaves , but that leaves too much unexplained .
All right , this one guy can mumbo-jumbo himself into three people , or fold up into one , at will .
I hope this explains the whole thing in a way that you can understand . It's just as clear as chocolate pudding to me .

God is 'one being' that has three 'faces' ... God the Father (the Creator of humanity and our universe), God the Son (the son was 'sent to earth' as a human born of a woman, Mary, who was known as Jesus Christ while alive on this planet), and God the Holy Spirit (the 'spirit' that can 'invade us' and take us over if we 'invite it in' and thus we 'mere humans' can be 'the Holy Spirit' or not, by our choice).
That is 'The Holy Trinity.' You must ALWAYS use the word Holy with Trinity, because there are many kinds of trinities (any group of three is a trinity) but there is only ONE 'Holy Trinity' that is our ONE GOD IN THREE PERSONS ... or one God with three 'faces' ...
IN FACT, we don't 'know' or have a clue what God 'looks like' ... and the description of the Holy Trinity is merely a 'manmade attempt' at describing the 'INDESCRIBABLE BEING OF GOD.'

St. Patrick explained it to the Irish as three persons in one being: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Patrick used a shamrock to describe how three distinct persons could be the same being. The three leaves of the shamrock are each alone a single thing, but the entire plant has the three together.
Our belief is that God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit are themselves separate and whole persons, always joined. It's one of our Blessed Mysteries.

Yes. You can find a detailed description in the Bible
For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word(JESUS), and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 1 John 5:7
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Then God said, “Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Gen. 1:26
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory. 1 Tim. 3:16
For in Him(JESUS) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Col 2:9
God can't lie. Titus 1:2

The trinity are the Father , Son, and Holy Spirit. Three personalities of the one God Jehovah. The three always act as one in complete unity. The word and the Sirit agree with the Father. No action in the Spirit works outside the Word and vice versa. Christians do not worship many gods just ONE; Jehovah who reveals himself in three different manners. One in the Father , One in the Spirit annd One in the Word. (Jesus)

God created the Universe. Created the first humans, Adam & Eve, and put them in a place called the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden was perfect, there was no death, sin, or suffering. God said they could eat from any tree exept the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Satan came and temped Adam & Eve into eating from the Tree, disobeying God. Because they sinned, death, pain, evil and suffering entered the world. And every human being inherited that sin, called Original Sin. And therefore every human being sins. It impossible not to sin. The punishment for sin is Hell, a place of eternal punishment. But God loves us so much, and did not want us to go to Hell. So He sent His Son Jesus into the world. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He did not deserve to die. He died on the cross as a sacrifice to pay for all of our sins. He took the punishment we deserve. He was dead for three days, and on the third day He rose again, ascended into Heaven, and is alive today. If you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you, you will go to Heaven. Faith in Jesus is the only way to be saved.

Start with a simple thing like this:
Consider your earthly father. He is also a son and HAS a son/daughter. There you have 3 in 1.
God is similar to that analogy.
Jesus is God in the flesh and the Holy Spirit is God's Spirit WITH us.
God bless!
