I don't agree with you, but "lick your own butt" was pretty funny.

If you want to consider yourself no better than other animals, fine, but when was the last time you saw a bear reading a book? When was the last time you saw a goat taking a shower, or a bath? And do you lick your own butt like most animals do? Yuck.

Well, there are two assumptions you're making here that need to be dealt with separately.

First, fornication is not just sex. It's sex where you're up to something. Fornication for humans is sex outside the bounds that God has established (working from Judaism and Christianity, where I assume this question is coming from, too). Since animals don't have such boundaries, they can't fornicate. Animals can't sin the way humans can for the same reason. Ethics doesn't exist for them.

Second, sex isn't inherently sinful. God created the reproductive system and the resulting activity and what God has made is good. People can use it in ways that aren't good (see fornication, above). Sex within the boundaries is blessed. The Bible backs this up with the Song of Songs and God's blessing couples with many children in 1 Samuel, Genesis, and other places.

I hope this helps.

Because we are greater than the animals as we have reason - we were created in the image of God and animals were not.

If you're going to base your behavior off of what animals do, you're going to have to bite the head off of your mate after sex like a praying mantis & then eat your babies...

humans aren't animals theologically speaking.

Because christians don't believe humans are animals, when in fact, we are. "We're the same decaying organic matter as everything else" to quote Fight Club.

It's another example of the non-stop "we're saying one thing but mean another" in christianity. I can't think of the word.

Other animals are apparently smart enough to not let themselves be ruled by an old book written by a bunch of goat herders.
