the throttle position is bad is it something i can do myself and how much should it cost if i have to take it somewhere

As I remember, these were kinda a fiddly thing to do with either removing quite a bit of stuff or using modified tools to get it off without removing a lot of stuff. If you aren't familiar with cars, go somewhere to get it done.

Hi! I have to agree with the other posters, but will add one thing. Be sure that whoever does the repairs checks for a coolant leak at the throttle body. It's common for coolant to leak from the seal at the throttle body down onto the TPS and then it seeps into the sensor and the sensor goes out. You will see sort of a corroded looking substance on the sensor if this has been happening.

if i were you id take it somewhere and have it done the part cost around 40 bucks usually and labor for putting it on and setting it,usually runs around 40 -50 bucks and this includes clearing the computer and erasing the trouble code on it,on this one i believe id have it done,they have the tools to do it with,good luck with it.
