Since America, a country with a historically good human rights record is, according to many Christian leaders, often punished by God for it's tolerance of Homosexuality and Abortion; does it follow that Iran, a country that supports terrorism and is murdering American solders in Iraq, will be blessed by God for it's prohibition of Abortion and persecution of Homosexuals?

Yes, the religious right would like to turn the United States into Iran. Very sad and unpatriotic position, in my opinion.

Very logical, but your entire argument rests on the Christian assumption that: a. God cares; b. homosexuality is a sin, and c. abortion is a sin. There are no homosexuals in Iran -- just men who have sex with men.
