The phrase “In the name of” means “according to the authority of” or “according to the instructions”.
Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are all in one accord, in total agreement with the things they instruct. Jesus does not instruct one type of baptism, for example, and the Holy Spirit another type. “There is … one baptism”! (Ephesians 4:4-5)
If you are baptized according the baptism that Christ authorized, then you are also following the instructions of the Father and the Holy Spirit! You would be baptized in the name (by the authority) of all three if you were baptized in the name of Christ!
To demonstrate this further, Jesus commanded “baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28:19).
The Holy Spirit guided the apostles in what to preach and write. Since the inspired apostles taught, “be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 2:38), then it can be concluded that this is what the Holy Spirit teaches, or led them to teach.
Did the Holy Spirit command a different baptism than Christ’s? No. Can you obey Christ without obeying the Father or the Holy Spirit? No. To obey one part of the Godhead is to follow the authority of all three personalities!
I live in Alabama. It is against the law in Alabama to murder. It is also against federal law to murder. If I obey the law of Alabama by not murdering anyone, I am also obeying United States law. The two laws say the same thing! I am subject to the laws of both agencies at the same time.
If I follow the authority of Christ, I am also following the authority of the Holy Spirit and the Father. I am subject to the authority of all three! I cannot do something in the name of one without also following the authority of the other two, because they all teach the same thing!
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (1 John 5:7)

The point is about plural, as opposed to singular. If the Father, Son and Holy Spirit were three separate entities, Jesus' baptismal formula would have been, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptising them in the name of the Father and the name of the Son and the name of the Holy Spirit."
It's not! It is a SINGULAR 'name', meaning all three are intrinsically bound together in one 'name'. This confirms their mutual deity in the God-head (singular). It's akin to the Genesis statement of God, "Let US make man in OUR image..." Hope that helps clear the puzzle up.

all three. I'M daddy to my daughter, honey to my wife, son to my Mom and mike to my brother. Three in one means three parts all equal and all different in operations but one God. How can you fully understand God and if you could fully understand him would he be God?
