i swear i'm not! i know i skip breakfasts some mornings, but it's only because i don't want to eat lunch like, an hour after breakfast!
i usually eat a bowl of porridge, then a special K bar and peanut-butter and jelly sandwich at lunch. for dinner, i eat as much as i physically can [she cooks and serves, so i don't really get a choice there]. i never usually snack, but if i do, it's only ever a bag of popcorn or a cookie.
she keeps telling me that i'm far too skinny, and no wonder my pants keep slipping on me [i'm sorry, but NO jeans ever fit me. ever.] i'm a clothes US size 6, so i'm not all that skinny, but she won't leave me alone!!! how can i convince her i'm not starving myself!? we were never really that close, so i find it hard to talk to her, my dad doesn't get involved in rows like these... i can't really talk to my trusty girlfriend [weight is a bit of a touchy subject there..] and i don't think any of my guyfriends would understand... i need help!

Tell her that you do not have an eating disorder, and that being skinny in itself is not bad. You can even suggest to her that you go to the doctor together and get a medical opinion. The doctor may be able to give you some better food guidelines that both of you can use.
As for your jeans falling off, wear a belt.

Depending on your height, a size 6 is probably appropriate. You don't say anything about portions but if you are eating a whole peanut butter and jelly sandwich at lunch, then you are probably getting enough food. Do you ever eat fruit and vegetables? You should be getting in 5 servings (usually 1/2 cup, small piece of fruit) a day, dairy, protein and whole grains.
If you want to shut your mother up, get a nutrition chart out and mark out what you eat each day for two weeks and then show it to her. If you are eating properly, it will show.

Well, start off you have to have a BMI under 17.5 or be 15% below the normal weight for your height, medically speaking. It doesn't seem that you have an unhealthy relationship with food, meaning you are not repulsed by the thought of eating and what eating will do to you. Start there, put the numbers in front of her. To figure your BMI, 1) Take your weight and multiply by 704.7
2) Take that number and divide it by your height squared (see below)
height squared:
5'0" = 3600
5'1" = 3721
5'2" = 3844
5'3" = 3969
5'4" = 4096
5'5" = 4225
5'6" = 4356
5'7" = 4489
5'8" = 4624
5'9" = 4761
5'10" = 4900
5'11" = 5041
3) The remaining number is your BMI
4) Now look below to find how you measure up:
Emaciated = UNDER 15 BMI
Anorexic = Under 17.5 BMI
Underweight = Under 19 BMI
Normal = 19 - 24 BMI
Overweight = 25 - 29 BMI
Obese = +29 BMI

Tell your mom that your weight is fine the way it is. You are young and your metabolism is high. Is she a overweight at all? You mentioned that you don't have a good relationship, so maybe she is secretly jealous of you. Don't start eating unhealthy fatty foods to make her happy. Try to find some web sites about body weight and BMI's to show her. If you are underweight, you may have a thyroid problem or something and should get checked by your doctor.

You can't do too much to convince her. You have to first be honest with yourself (which it seems you are) make sure you're eating healthy. The have a conversation with her, tell her that you understand and appreciate her concern but assure her that you are eating healthy and wouldn't put your healt or life in jeopardy by doing otherwise. If she doesn't belive you thats fine, you may have to live with her doubt so long as you are entirely sure that you're eating healthy.

Go to this website:
www.healthchecksystems.com/ heightweightchart
Check your weight against the chart. If you're where you should be you can show it to your mother. If you are way under weight, but you think you eat normally you probably should see a doctor.

Just tell her that you eat healthy, skip breakfast once in a while (like many do) and that you can't help that you aren't gaining any weight, but you aren't loosing any either.

I would not worry about it - all Moms want their children healthy, if you know what I mean. Because I'm not the size of my sisters my Mom is always telling me I need to eat more. It seams to me you eat quite enough

the next time you go to the family doctor (like for your annual check up or other scheduled visit), have her go w/ you & wait in the waiting room for you. if the doctor agrees w/ you that you are a healthy weight & are not anorexic, have the doctor bring her in at the end of the exam, & tell her as much.

If you eat and do not throw up, then there is not an eating disorder to make you so thin, maybe a visit to your pediatrician would do to help mum be a little more understanding.
