Well, most of them do have the guts to allow free elections, and not kill and torture their political opposition. So I think your point is poorly drawn.

I am sure there are many times that Western leaders have spoken to opposing crowds ...of course with less publicity.

In the case of Ahmadinejad, I think it was more of a case of desparation and mental instability. The people of Iran had been pro-American for years prior to the radical Islamist taking power in the country. Today there are many factions in Iran, and Ahmadinejad by no means has the backing of most of the people or factions. He has to show some muscle and act unafraid by parading around the US. It gives him more power to kill the opposition when he gets back to Iran. He is clearly a Sudam Hussain wanabe.

Nuclear weapons in the hands of this madman will SHOULD wakeup any thinking person.

Don't be so naive. Ahmadin -a -Whatever did not expect that. He has only dealt with Western diplomats but not with America's youth. Look at the tapes again and study his body language. He was both astonished and at the same time impressed with those college kids. In Iran they would be forced to sit quietly with their hands folded when he enters a room. He never expected that type of reception. It was a proud moment to showcase Americas's youth and their intelligence. Love the College President, too. Way to go!!!

We have many leaders who have all it takes , but no Muslim country has the "guts" to permit a Westerner to talk freely in an Islamic country .
No Westerner could possibly talk like Ahamdinejad , because all of our leaders have brains .
