I am flying into Baltimore (BWI) on a Saturday next month. I will be staying the night, until I travel on the next morning. Any suggestions for something to do that night before I fly home the next morning. Further details: I'll be arriving to BWI around 5pm. I am traveling alone, and female, so I want something safe. I really don't feel like taking a cab to my hotel and staying holed up in the hotel all night, so any suggestions would be helpfu. I will not have a rental car, so I will be at the mercy of cabs, public transportation. My hotel is near the BWI airport. Thought about the Aquarium, but don't know.

I actually live in Baltimore, there is so much to do here. If your staying near the airport, there is a marc train( $5.00) that can take you into the inner harbor which is down town balto. They have water taxi's that can take you on a boat ride for about $6.00 to the other side which is called Fell's Point, A really nice laid back area, Alot of speciality shops, locals pubs, bookstores etc.I would call the balto. visitor enter and ask for a guide and map of the area. Call 1-877-baltimore or www.baltimore.org

Aquarium, Harbour, plenty of restaurants by Harbour (ESPN Zone, Fudrucker's, Phillip's). There is definetly nothing by the airport. Arundel Mills Mall (nice) is close by if hotel has a shuttle or you can catch a cab. Movies and Jillian's is at the mall. Enjoy your stay!

If you're staying near the airport, your hotel probably offers shuttle service to the airport as well as the Linthicum Light Rail Station. Take the light rail into town. There isn't any social life by the airport.

Okay - you can do the city thing. Fells Point and Inner Harbor are the main "attraction" areas - although if you want to do something like the Aquarium, please check their hours first.. Both have shopping and food, Inner Harbor has more sights, Fells Point more nightlife.

However, nearby to the airport is "Arundel Mills Mall" (no more than 6 miles)

Great shopping, movies, entertainment. And "safer" than going into the city.

I agree with the previous poster - it is absolutly safe. The BW parkway will take you all the way into downtown D.C. and then you can branch off the parkway onto New York Avenue to get to the capital hill area. Watch out for speed cameras, everyone gets caught!
