They are curious about the joy we have. Plus Jesus stated that we would be mocked and ridiculed for His sake, and that is the service the atheists provide. May we reach and save many before they die!

Check the answer history for thousands of great previous answers to this question. One can be a spiritual person and be an atheist. One can be an atheist and be interested in religion, especially where it affects your life. One can be an atheist and be knowledgeable about religion. I know people who are atheists with theology degrees. Many Buddhists are atheists and are amongst the most spiritual people on the planet.

Why not?
You know, there are entire "atheist" religions - Buddhism comes to mind. An atheist as such simply rejects the idea of a "Supreme Being." "Spirituality" covers much more ground than that.
I myself am an atheist who has practiced the Buddhist and Hindu meditation techniques, with some degree of "spiritual" "success" (loaded words).
For other atheists, this forum is a great place to level some destructive criticism at "religious" ideas, and I think that's also legitimate and necessary.
Oh, yeah, and I'm also here for Deke, but he doesn't swing my way, so, you know, basically I'm just pining for him.

Why would George W. Bush be interested in Weapons of Mass Destruction?
Why would he even bother looking around the middle east? Shouldn't he consider it a complete waste of time?

Perhaps!
I consider it a waste of time, but that's what i'm here for...... to waste time.... so it suits my needs perfectly.
And, ONCE AGAIN, you do not need to practice religion or spirituality to discuss it. That's like saying you have to be a doctor to discuss medicine.... or an architect to dicuss building design......... Many atheists have past experience in religion and spiritual practice.... some have extensively studied religions...... and they are better suited to answer questions in those regards. Better than some half-wit who lives in the bible belt and thinks he knows everything about life because he "knows" that god created everything.... even though he barely even knows anything about the bible because he lacks to education to even know how to read.
Do you feel your position is so weak that it can't stand debate from the opposite position? Do you feel threatened by the atheist presence here? Why is it such a big deal?

Yay! Time to do the hokey-pokey.
I don't speak for the other Atheists, but this nonbeliever is here to discuss anything faith-related. The last time I checked, this section is not restricted to people of religious belief.

I'm a pagan, a Taoist, AND an atheist, and there are no questions for me in the Cats section.
It's not a waste of time to keep you from thinking that everyone in the world thinks like you so you can go ahead and legislate your beliefs to everyone else.

You could consider it a complete waste of time, but you could also use it as a reference as to what different kinds of people believe
