Canon makes a professional camera (XL-1) that accomodates Canon SLR lenses, but for typical camcorders, there's no way to adapt or connect any SLR lens.

If you need a wider range for your camcorder zoom lens and the lens has a threaded front edge (like for filters), then you can buy screw-on lenses for either wide-angle or telephoto.

first of all, virtually no consumer camcorder comes equiped with "interchangeable" lenses. they have a lens that is permanently attached to the camera. some professional and most broadcast grade cameras do have replaceable lenses, mostly for service purposes as they are made for rugged duty.

you can use filters and auxillary lenses that screw on to the front of the main lens on the better models of consumer camcorders.

the main reason that lenses are rarely interchanged is the CCD sensor on a good slr camera is a much larger size than the CCD imager used on typical consumer camcorders. this would make regular slr lenses become extreme telephoto when used with the camcorder. this is also a problem when using film type lenses on a dSLR camera.
