when I was a mormon, it always rained during conferances, my mom would say that "the angels were crying." does it still rain every conferance??? If you want to comment on the protests, thats fine to, i don't remember to many protests in UT when I was growing up, maybe I just ignored it.

I think it's been a recent thing, these so-called "street preachers", like since 2000 or so.

I've been to both, rainy and sunny conferances.
When I was a kid, I went once and I don't remember protesters. I've been a few times as an adult, and every time there have been protesters. So it may be a recent thing or I just didn't notice them as a child. Last time I went there was a protester protesting the protesters. I assume he was LDS. He was dressed in a cow costume and ranted about random things that had nothing to do with religion. It was kinda funny.

This will be my first general conference...it's not the angels crying lol, my parents used to tell me when it was thundering and stuff that the angels were bowling and they just got a strike and that's what thunder is...
Of course as we all know thunder is the sound of lightning...and rain is just water...
But I'm not sure if it still rains...
As far as the protest....a protest of what? Hearing the prophet speak? Yeah, that's real appropriate, why don't they go protest the Pope every Sunday when he talks in St. Peter's square?

Uh? WHAT?
I remember the first time I watched General Conference in October last year... A gorgeous sunny Saturday.... (I didn't watch the Sunday part... I was not a member anyways).
The second time I watched it... was it April? It was a gorgeous Saturday and an even more gorgeous Sunday ( I didn't watch Saturday at all, but I did on Sunday). I don't know how the weather in Utah was... who cares anyways? what matters is to watch the conference and pay attention to what they say. In this one, I will totally watch Sunday.. On Saturday I will have to work (that sucks!) but I'll do my best to try to watch it.

I haven't ever been to a General Conference, I always watch on TV...and it seems to usually be good weather outside...
It always seems like it rains at funerals though...like at my grandpa's, we joked that he wouldn't have wanted us to spend a lot of time at his grave and it poured rain the whole time we were there until we left.
Anywho, I don't remember a lot of protests when I was younger, maybe I just didn't pay attention to the news or anything like that... seems like they are getting worse and worse though. In my opinion, that's just satan fighting harder and harder because he knows the church and its members are getting stronger and stronger!!

I've been to Conference only once, but I'm going again this Oct.!!! I remember the protestors, and I wanted to stop and listen, but they didn't make any sense and my leaders wouldn't let me. They just told me to ignore them like everyone else. But I remember one guy (I assume he was mormon) went up to one and started cussing him out really loud. Not bad language....but Mormon cussing I guess. I wanted to laugh, but the leaders were all serious like so I didn't, though I did see one leader of the YM struggling not too...it was funny.
Rain? I don't remember...I

October is usually sunny and April is usually rainy. just the seasons. and the protesters have nothing better to do. that's why they come.
