Following Christ is a personal search. His desire is to have a personal relationship with you. Please read the scriptures in the book of St. John chapter 1 and in chapter 3. These passages will encourage you to go find a Spirit filled church that can lead you into this kind of relationship and you will come to understand that God can touch and heal the whole man. (our hearts and our minds and our bodies.)
God bless.

I'm Roman Catholic. We are what you might call the "original Christians" and the other denominations branched out because of different interpretations of the Bible. For example, most Protestants take the Bible as it's written and believe in salvation through believing alone. Russian Orthodox have almost the same beliefs as us Catholics but they don't acknowledge the Pope. Seriously, it's confusing.. there are about 2000 Christian denominations now.

So, here's my opinion. Whatever religion you were born into or are into now: 1. Stick to it. 2.Get to know it. 3. Really get to know it. 4. Really really get to know it, especially its history (because a history makes a religion). 5. If you don't like your religion, you gotta be kidding unless you are told to rape/murder/steal/etc on a regular basis.

If you are an atheist, stay that way. We need you guys to keep us on our toes. If the Protestants say you go to hell if you don't believe, that's crap. You do good, you go to heaven. Finito.

Only if you get some sort of heavenly interference do you convert, and if you finally choose Christianity, choose Catholicism cause we have the history. Then you can branch out if you want to. But, religion is something you shouldn't toy with unless you get a divine 999 call :D

Well I saw your other question.

God has put in the bible the identifying mark of the true religion...not religions.

first of all love is an identifying mark. so any faith that says its ok to go to war for your country is automatically out. No true Christian would ever kill his fellow believer..or any man for that matter.

I think that you really need to pray to God and ask to be shown the way. Many people have done this and God drew them in the right path.

there are a ton of other things I could talk about but I dont have much time so I wont. Just dont become a Catholic, they are pretty much the deffinition of false religion

Look for a church that believes the bible is all sufficient, that there is no need for additional books. Look for a church that believes the bible is the sole authority, because it contains everything God wants us to know. A bible believing, bible teaching church that will accept you just as you are and not be concerned with how you dress, what kind of car you drive, or with your race or social status.

Don't try to find a church that teaches what you think you believe or want to hear.

Find one that teaches the Word of God from the Word of God, then puts that Word into practice through missions and ministries, and allows you to be involved in ministry work as well. When you find that church you will not have just found a church, you will have found a family and a home.

God bless you.

It depends on whether you view religion as a buffet or a Tree of Life (never needing food or drink again, because you will live forever and not die). The analogy is not perfect but you have to decide whether you believe religion's goal is comfort or truth. If for comfort, select whatever you want that appeals to you reguardless of what anyone says or how hard it might be to reconcile it all together. If for truth, you have to forget comfort and search for truth as the highest prize. I think a wise guy once said that if you look for comfort you will find neither comfort or truth in the end but if you look for truth you may be comforted in the end. I think his name was Cs lewis.

First you can read basics of religion..Second read the main ideas of every religion..Third you can decide do you need a religion or not..Fourth if still you need then why not float in open waters ..I mean you can read every book which belongs to the religion section..Is it sounds difficult..? Then you may go to the way most people go..I mean follow one..hate the others..

Where you find true Christianity. That is with those who believe that Christ is God, that he resurrected from the dead (and is alive today) and was born of a virgin (establishing his sinless nature).

Try the belief-o-matic...it covers subdivisions (sects) of Christianity and several other religions.

You choose what makes logical sense to you and feels right to you in ceremony, etc.

Depending on exactly what you're confused on, you'd be far more served if you ask direct questions on the confusions.

ummm... try harder. Listen to your feelings.

I would suggest going to chat with a few of your local religious organizations and have them explain what they believe to you in their own words. I think it is alot easier to understand when you hear it from a real person.
