help me out here im trying to understand. if you go to a question dealing with God's power, His mercy, or anything of the like, WHY DO YOU ANSWER? (thats the question) especially with the title "christians". you deny His power, you dont agree with it being a miracle, so why do you bother? i understand that this forum is for EVERYONE but SOME questions are NOT for DEBATE. they are for other christians to give their testimonies, or their encouraging words. not for negative to ppl. i know some are gonna say "why do christians do it" i dont know maybe to be HATEFUL? hint hint.

Yeah, I try not to do that, unless there's a blatant misrepresentation of atheists and other nonbelievers (or believers, for that matter) going on.

It cuts both ways, though. Christians always pile in even if a question is directed from one nonbeliever to another.

Alright so I am not supposed to answer this question as I am a Christian. I enjoy a little poke here and there! Sometimes comments on either side can get a little sharp and nasty but I would rather it be all in fun. I also like to read your (the supposed atheists) answers because I like to see where they are coming from.
So to all you atheists and to all you Christians... answer away, bring it on, but keep the fight clean, witty and a touch of humor now and then would be really nice!!!
Just to clarify, I have been in the military, I have been inside the walls of several prisons and among some really hardened people and I have met very few absolute atheists. I really think that you would like to know absolutely if there is a God or not and wish His existence were more clear and met with your intellectual perspective.

When I see "no atheists" in a question, I don't answer to be hateful. I answer to make a point that simply because I am one doesn't mean that I have no input on the subject. The people who ask those questions don't want to hear anything that they don't already agree with. They're looking for validation, not real answers. And many of us have studied or are studying Christianity, among other religions - why are our opinions, if offered in a sane, reasonable manner, rejected out of hand?

I rarely open question aimed specifically at Christians, or Muslims or any other religion. However, you must realize that this is not a Christian Bible Study Group.

Anyone can come here and answer anything they want. It is also moderated in a way, and praying and other non question posts are in violation, and bring the whole forum down to a level it is not supposed to be at.

I guess it's just hard to resist sometimes. Some people really want to have their opinion heard even if nobody asked for it.

I know it can be annoying sometimes, but the good thing is that at least people get to hear different opinions. I don't think it's good for anyone to exclusively talk to people who agree with them.

I rarely bother answering questions that are not addressed to me because I don't expect my answer to mean anything to the asker and hence it would be a waste of time. Also if people of some religion are just talking between themselves about something in their religion, I stay out of it if it isn't about something that might harm others. But if the question involves some sort of attacks or hate-spreading, then I'm not about to just sit by quiet and watch as somebody spreads lies and hate against me, even if they ask me to stay out of it.

I'm not sure if I fit in your label of "SOME atheists" but I only answer questions that directly ask a question about dogmatic issues or religious things within their religious parameters. In other words if someone asks a question about something in the Catholic Church and isn't trying to compare it to Buddhism, just wanting answers... I answer from a Catholic "perspective".

I've studied several religions in enough depth to be able to answer such questions. Now when a question is put forth to CHALLENGE atheism, of course I respond with my opinion of it as a Buddhist, and essentially atheist.

Because I want the Christians who are looking for Christian answers to get my point of view instead. There's no negativity there. I want to teach Christians about Atheism and make a positive change in their life by converting them.

Actually, asking "questions" which are not questions, but are designed for giving testimonies violates the community guidelines. If you want to post statements, you need to find a blog elsewhere.

Sometimes I can't help myself. I've got a really good zinger and I don't want to waste the opportunity. (I usually don't answer those, however, since I know and respect many theists...)

I know it's mean. I never claimed to be nice, though.

why do you bother to report everyone that doesn't agree with you?

heknewmeyetlovedme - sent this message

Message: i dont report. ppl can disagree with me i dont care. what im talking bout is questions like "what has God done for you" (example) and it would be titled "christians". some atheists will answer with "who that fairy tale in the sky" (example) im just saying there are alot of christians that are having a hard time, and there being attacked by satan. their wanting encouragement not to give up in their life. they dont need harrasment from or negativity from ones that have no compassion for other humans. it is very hurtful for some of us. quetions dealing with "what the bible says" or what you believe" im not referring to those type questions cause this is for everyone to express their opinions. feel free to email back with whatever response that is on your mind.
