Without making it obvious,i work with him!i dnt want to make a fool of myself coz rejection elsewhere is o.k but not at work!so pls advise.thanx.

definitely don't be so obvious if work wit the guy. that can get u in trouble. but u can do it in a subtle way, talk to him more give him "that look" u will be able to tell if he wants something more than a co-worker friendship.

Ask a general question along the lines of "how do you feel about workplace romances?"
For myself, I avoid them and if he gives the same answer you know to not even bring it up. If he says he has no problem with them, say "good" give a big smile and walk away.

Just start flashing a smile to every now and then, it doesn't make you seem to obvious but it gives just the right amount of a hint.

Workplace romances are tough. Even if it works out in the beginning, there is always chance of rejection down the road. But if you are serious, and feel he is interested in you than take him to lunch and let him know your feelings.

you want to hint strongly without making it obvious, well that's kind of an oxymoron of a sentence don't you think? just laugh at whatever jokes he cracks and hug him. He'll pick up on it eventually.

Its the best way to show that you like someone.
Also if he flirts back then he might like you back too.
Just touch his arm when you walk past then when he looks around just give him a wave.
Just little things make a big difference.

Leave a note in his locker. Make it anonymous so he doesn't know it's you... Then start hanging around him more... Strike up conversation. That should work.
