Congrats!! Your side effects will be minimal. You will probably experience cravings. For the first three days after quitting you body will physically "need" the nicotine. You might feel a little cranky, irritable or moody. But hold out because after three days you will no longer need it physically and it'll all be up to mind over matter. You might gain up to 3 pounds because nicotine is an appetite suppressant but that is the worse. Because your side effects will be good! Each minute you don't smoke, your body will be working to repair all the damage the cigarettes have been doing to your body. By the time 2 years go by your fully recovered!! I just quit too...so good luck!!

Well, there's no actual "side effects" from stopping... but there is withdrawal. Oh, and congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!

As far as answering, the feelings of withdrawal tend to be cravings for nicotine, nausea, headache, and just generally feeling sick (sometimes flu-like symptoms). The more you've smoked, the worse it will be.... but the best thing is that AFTER you've gotten past that, you will be able to breathe easier and clearer, you'll have more energy, you'll be able to do more (especially physical activity).... there are SO many benefits to not smoking!

The best ways to quit over all are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you'll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.

For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you'll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal...
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it's not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).

All that being said, it's likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last drag (it's never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don't take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.
Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!

Most likely lose the cough, better endurance, overall better health. Of course, you should exercise too, even if it is just walking 30 minutes a day.

5 smokes a day was a moderate thing and so would be the symptoms but nothing to worry about.Just manage it for 48 hours and you are a FREE person.
