So i go to college on tuesdays and thursdays. I have a 10 month old son who goes to daycare on tuesdays so today, one of my teachers didnt show up for class so, we got to leave. I had an hour and half til next class so, i drove 2 min home to see my bf and son for a little while. well i walk in the door and its all dark, and if my son is naping, he naps either in a minicrib in the living room or playpen. i look in both, and he is not in either, so i go to the bedroom and walk in, all dark. I turn on the lights and frank is sleeping, getting ready to get up for work. so i look in the crib, and NO BABY!! I said "omg frank, where is the baby" and he says "he's sleeping in his playpen" so i run out n check and i cant find the baby anywhere. i start crying and running around looking everywhere. and than my bf comes out and says "jess, he is at daycare" i was like OMG. my heart was pounding and i was so scared! Frank was half asleep so he didnt realize what he said. has this happened to u??

Of course, it's normal. I still do that! It's just that maternal instinct, plus going to school is stressful when you have a child. I did it, too! Don't be hard on yourself. Good luck!

Yes, my oldest was around 2.5 and she did not want her nails clipped and she took off running. My husband was outside smoking and I started to look around for her and could not find her he came back in and started looking, we were calling her and had checked everywhere closets everywhere you could think even the dryer, I started sobbing and freaking out we looked outside though neither of us thought she could slip by him and it was dark. We had a table at that time with a huge center post, I had looked under the table but not behind the post she was small enough you could not see her and that side faced the wall and was pushed against it because we did not use it much and needed the space. He was in a panic by this time and she finally came out. I have never been so scared in all my life and then she was crying because I was crying so hard, it was getting close to 10 minutes and all over getting her nails clipped, I had never hurt her before, needless to say we talked to her about that and she never did it again. It is a feeling I hope I NEVER feel again.

When my 2yo twins started i would freak out like this!! It is a nasty feeling, I used to feel so sick afterwards and ring the daycare up. They would have to take the phone to my boys even if they were asleep so i could hear them breathing!

Takes some getting used to. I accused one of my clients at work of hiding them, once as well. They used to come with me for a while and i had just gotten used to the fact. My poor client!! He thought it was so funny!

Yup, but I have done the oppiste. After a long stressful day, I called my mom to see how my daughter was doing & totaly forgot that she was already home & in bed for the night, I just spaced out, good thing it was only my mom, b/c she already knows that I am 1/2 crazy.

Never happened to me, but with all three of my kids when they were babies, they occasionally slept with us at night - maybe like an hour or so. Then I would get up and put them back in their cribs. A few nights, thanks to sleep depravation, I would forget that I put them back in their cribs and start looking for them in our bed. DUH!!! Just takes a few minutes to freak out and then I went and there they were peacefully sleeping away in their cribs.

Yup, that's scary. What's even scarier is its situations like that when kids get "accidentally" left in vehicles. I'm not saying that you would do that, I'm just saying that it happens.

No, I've never forgotten where my kids were. Especially when they were babies. It would be scary though if I couldn't find my child.
