My husband used to fly fighter jets for the US Navy. They practiced with Israeli pilots sometimes. Based on his experience of their skill and spirit, I'm down with the Israelis.

They may try to invade, but they won't win. Does anybody remember the Yom Kippur War? The Six-Day War?

Seeing as they have nukes and their likely adversaries, don't it would probably take a while. The only major Muslim country that we know to have nukes currently is Pakistan. What would likely happen would be the start of the significant arms race in the region.

An immediate invasion by say the Syrians would likely fail. Look up Yom Kippur and six day war.

Actually we are protecting Israel's neighbors from Israel.

If Israel did not have our support, Israel would take the position that they need to be much more agressive against their Muslim neighbors since their Muslim neighbors all want to kill them.

If we stopped supporting Israel, Israel would probably destroy the Muslim nations in the area as self defense against them..

One thing to keep in mind, Israel has much more military power than all of the Muslim nations in the area combined.

We protect the Muslim nations in the area from Israel more than we protect Israel from the Muslim nations.

Probably wouldn't take long and without the US holding Israel back, it wouldn't take very long for Israel to nuke their enemy. Gee, maybe we should let Israel have their way. I'd love to see lots of dead Hamas.

Israel would last a long time, because if you put two Arabs in a trench together they are just as likely to shoot each other. Just look at Hamas vs. Fatah.

Israel is capable of defending itself.

It's US financial aid that rots their govt and their generals.
Remember General Galutnik (or whatever his name) who ran to his broker first, than to his HQ when the last war started?

Actually the US would do a lot better if they let Israel fight for them. You don't know a lot about the Israeli military do you?

We could have asked the same question back in the 70's about West Germany.

Well, what do you mean by supporting? Unless we take back the weapons we already sold them, I think they can handle themselves. They seemed to have kicked butt pretty well in the past.

Have you heard the latest? Israel insist that US aid be paid in Euros. Rice said OK. Geeeezzzzz, what a welfare whore. Do they pay for anything, make anything, do anything besides cause tension?
