One of my favorites. (But then I love everything Lewis ever wrote). I usually reread it about once a year.
Lewis had a brilliant mind, and was not converted until late in life (mid 50's). So he brings to his writtings a very different point of view. He does not write from traditional religious dogma or with Christian terms. (Although he was very familiar with both.)
Rather he argues from logics, philosophy and common sense. In his classic defense of the Christian faith, his book "Mere Christianity", he quotes a total of two Bible verses. He chooses instead to use logics and common sense as the foundation for his arguements.
His writting probably helped more than anything else to build my own faith in Christianity. And Screwtape was one of the first that I read (after Lion, Witch and Wardrobe). And has remained one of my favorites.

One of the very best books that Clive Lewis ever wrote! There is profound truth on every page. I re-read it every Lent. That makes at least 13 times. A GREAT read!!

My dear Wormwood,
It has been more that two score years since I've called those old letters to mind. I do recall they were of excellent quality, highly satirical, though somewhat dated in context.
......Your loving Uncle Screwtape

I found it immensely entertaining, surprisingly disarming, artfully ingenious, profoundly wise, wonderfully witty, and solemnly sobering.
As with everything that C.S. Lewis wrote, I loved it.

Echolyn wrote a cool song based on one of the letters, called "My Dear Wormwood." That's about all I can offer.

I read it a long time ago - thought it was interesting.
If nothing else, it shows how Satan uses your
weak points. We don't know exactly how demons do
their work, but like I said, it is interesting.
