At 13 you are WAY TOO YOUNG to be concerned with "building your body". At your age your main concern is getting the right nutrition to continue your growth patterns so you can get to your adult height.
Going for body building at your age could cause SERIOUS DAMAGE to your growing body.
Eat right. Eat a diet rich in good carbs, good lean meat, fresh fruites and veggies, and drink lots of water.
Get lots of rest. Find a sport to participate in. Ride your bike around town. Go hiking with your family and friends.
If by the time you're in your early twenties and think you want to "build your body", then go for it.
Why wait that long? A young man doesn't really stop growing until he's in his LATE TEENS or early twenties.
Oh, and BUILD YOUR BRAIN. Do well in school and let nature take it's course.

Your joints and bones are still forming so its possible that weight training now could damage them. If I were you I would just get into a good basic conditioning plan. Get your lung capacity up. You can do that with fast walking or running, but get good shoes, don't run down hills (walk down them), and don't run on concrete--you must protect your knees. Swimming is a great conditioner too. You can build up to a huge number of push ups or belly crunches (not sit ups, they are bad for your lower back), and chin ups but start slowly and just add a few every now and then. You could literally be up in the hundreds in a year. Maybe weight training starting around age 18, maybe younger, but listen to your body, don't do anything that makes your joints hurt.

Well you should exercise for 45 mins a day cadio,
since your young .. sit up , jumping jack, push up , stair climbing, leg lifts , will be just fine for now. when your 18 you can use weights to build more bulk if you like.
as for what to eat,
daily you should have a balance meal.. Start out each morning with something that will stick to your ribs like oat meal , you should also have 3 to 5 servings of fruit daily,
and 5 serving of veggies
along with 8 glasses of water daily or more if its really hot out side.

we need to know if your a guy or girl, and if your a guy you need to wait a couple years the only muscle you want right now competing for your body's protein is (you know) I suggest letting that grow first another couple years you have plenty time after that to change your body to the way you want it. You will regret bulking up now and having a tiny member later. By then it will be too late for your member

Eat 5 to 6 times daily (breakfast, lunch, dinner and little snacks in between). Do some 30 min. cardio (walking, jogging, cycling, treadmill etc.) and muscle toning every other day (free weights, resistance and abdominal work outs). When eating try not to intake more a fist full of it (portion control).
