Are you scared of people who have HIV? do you think breathing the same air as them you will get the disease?
Are they people you avoid? Why?
Are they from the devil? would you discriminate against them?
HIV is The Human Immunodeficiency Virus. The virus attacks the infection fighting cells of the immune system which, over time, weakens and becomes unable to defend the body against bacteria, viruses and germs.
It can only be passed by Sexual contact, sharing needles, infected blood. HIV has been found at low concentrations in the saliva, tears and urine of infected individuals, but there are no recorded cases of infection by these secretions and the potential risk of transmission is negligible.
So what do you think of people with HIV?

There's a certain subsection of the "religious" population that views HIV as a "punishment from God" for an "immoral lifestyle" - but I think it's safe to say that MOST religious people aren't quite that despicable.
I would hope that the majority would be compassionate towards people with this disease, and that they wouldn't allow their irrational hatred of homosexuals to "harden their hearts." I know it's bound to happen - "Well, what was he doing that he got AIDS? Sharing needles? Committing sodomy?" - but of course this type of thinking is really no different at all from judging a person with lung cancer and saying that he deserves to die because he was probably a smoker. I would hope that people are a little more humane than that.

Believers in what?
I believe in something, I also think people with this disease are extremely unfortunate especially those that are born with it or recieve it from a legitimate blood transfusion.
I still feel sorry for people that caught it from Sex, and sharing needles but not so much, because barrier methods and not using needle drugs are very effective protection against it.
Sadly though, to say I would not discriminate would be a lie. I would not have Sex with anyone knowing they had HIV, apart from that I would treat them normally.

I used to work in a hospital when the virus first came out and they didn't know what it was exactly. I had to suit up to take them to x-ray and I literally saw people deteriorate before my eyes. It's a horrible disease. I would not wish it on anyone.
There is a friend of mine who works with people who have no families etc.... that I give money to. I don't know why this question is related only to believers however. Praying for these people is great though as I've seen it work in those who are positive toward it.

I'm a believer but not of christianity. And I have to problem dealing with people that have HIV but that may be because I worked in the medical field long enough to understand that it is a disease not a sin.

I am a christian, and i think that people who have HIV have horrible disease, that they recieved from either having sex, or sharing needles..i know how you can and cannot get HIV and i dont think they are the work of the devil..i mean if someone got herpes would you think they were the work of the devil?? I mean good honest, christian men and women can get HIV just from having sex with someone that may of gotten infected another way and passed it on to them...they cannot be held accountable...so basically what i am saying is..i dont think anything negative of peopel with HIV.. its sad and i wouldnt want to have to deal with it!

I feel really sorry for them. How someone could live with that horrible disease is beyond me. I also admire their courage and determination to go on living.
I would try to treat them the same as i would any other person. Jesus never discriminated against others so neither will I.
God bless

Believers in what exactly? Are you speaking to a particular religion?
People who believe that HIV can be passed through the air are merely uneducated or ignorant. But most people today know better.

Hmmm....I think they're human, with a virus. I think the same about them as I do everyone else.
No I'm not scared of them.
No I don't think breathing the same air will infect anyone.
If I knew anyone with it, no I wouldn't avoid them.
No they're not from the devil.
No I wouldn't discriminate against them.

I think they're unfortunate and I pity their situation. Never met with anyone in person with HIV that I know of, but if I did I would the very same as I treat others around me.

They're no different to anyone else. Everyone sins, if that's what you're getting at, but i certainly wouldn't avoid them or discriminate them, and nobody is from the devil. I think you seem to have very twisted views of believers.
