Do you associate with them? If you do, yeah, you could be.

Yes~they can conduct surveillance which does not require a warrant.

Yes~they can "tap" your phone lines but that does require a warrant.

It's amazing how so many people think wiretaps are a new invention as a result of the Patriot Act.

It's also amazing to see those comments that call it an "illegal" action. They are obviously not privy to the case information therefore they have no clue as to what the investigative agency has or doesn't have. To say the least...an investigative agency conducting phone surveillance would have to provide the telephone company the legal documentation authorizing the phone surveillance.

Your question does not indicate why an investigative agency would even be concerned about watching your home or listening to your conversations. If you're not doing anything wrong...you have nothing to worry about!

They can. Its all done through a court order as long as they established reasonable suspicion. The surveillance and phone taps are in place to establish probable cause.

If you think you're under scrutiny maybe you should change your ways here. Them seeing you in your pajamas will be the very least of your worries. That'll turn into bull dyke prison guards watching you shower instead.

In the US they have to have 'cause' and get a judge to allow the order to bug your phone.. but surveillance can be by cause only that is how they catch most drug dealers. With the federal police is an entirely different set of rules.

If are under surveillance by someone that is any good at it, you DON'T know. There are things to look for, but it takes training AND significant practice to learn to spot them.

If you behave and have a halo atop your head then you will not be followed or watched over by the police, but if you have a sore tooth, then not only will the police have you under survellience, but you will also be wire tapped and interrogated by the corrupt bush administration, hellloooo, is anyone home. And, the way I look at it, God can see you all the time. Now how about that.

They'll need a warrant to bug your phone, but not to put your house under surveillance.

Anything that can be seen from the street is considered public. Any conversation that can be heard from the street is the same. Listenting to your phone conversations i.e., bugging requires a warrant.

Yes. They can. And they don't have to provide any clues. Though the guy upstairs in my building is pretty obvious.

If they have a reason and a warrant. Do you have a reason for them to be watching you?
