That I dont care.

I want to know if anyone agrees with this.

I spent my time defending atheists, because I agree with how they think. Many people wrote it off as a rant, but that just shows how smart they are.
Anyway. I basically stated that I thought atheists were smarted the christians because they ask questions and dont follow everything blindly. I believe in god, but I ask questions.
Thats what I said, in a nutshell.

I got christians saying I was going to hell. I knew that was coming.
But...I got atheists saying I was stupid...for what? Saying you were right? How smart you must be.

But what I want to know...(if you agree or not)...is this:

"Arguing over the internet is pointless...its like competing in the special olimpics, even if you win....your still a retard"

No point can ever get across over the internet, so why try?
I defend someone and how they think...and I get rocks thrown at me.
Thats they way it is. Human beings are naturally cruel. Thats life.

First off, an atheist does not believe. If you believe, but do not follow blindly and you ask, that makes you agnostic. Arguing in a conflictive manner over the internet is retarded. Discussing points of view is absolutely acceptable and reasonable, because if it weren't, using the internet in general would make you stupid.

hmmm, i guess you still care, otherwise you won't care what repsonses you get on this question, and if you did not care you would not have asked the question.

look at the pros and cons of each view

Christianity

do what God says....live for ever and ever

dont and they go to hell

Atheists....do what they say, within the law

cons: no eternal life as there is no god

the question is
if you really think there is no God, then you would not worry

but if you are happy about this

if god comes with the kingdom of new Jerusalem and starts to let in people and then says...oh not you guys, you didn't believe this place existed so you should not feel too worried about living forever since you never really wanted to

how would you feel?

so far, this is the biggest downside to being an atheist if you consider all the 'what if's?'

OH BOY!
My son has been in the special Olympics, and he is NOT retarded! He is blind, and has some motor co-ordination issues. He also has a developmental delay because of having a genetic disorder, but has progressed FAR BEYOND what his expectations were - as given by the Doctors. One of the conditions of his syndrome is "mental retardation", but he is not affected by that. at 5 years old he could divide. How many 5 year olds can do that?
There are BOTH Athiests and Christians who are jerks, and there are BOTH Athiests and Christians who are sensible.
But, when one person gets on a soap box and declares their way (belief, theology, ascription) is THE ONLY WAY, it does come across as TOTALLY OFFENSIVE!

Hm. I volunteer for the Special Olympics. They can spell, and they don't call each others names, especially retard. I guess in many ways they are better than you. My sister would be embarrassed to know you.

EDIT: As I replied to your email to me asking 'How could you?'. You used the phrase not me. Don't make me out to be the bad person here, especially since you have three relatives with disorders. That is just plain sad that you did that. The lack of respect you showed is appalling.

I don't understand why you were told you are going to hell. I am a Christian, and I agree that many of the athiest here do ask some interesting questions. Some of them are very educated regarding the bible. When I find someon wh knows the bible well, but has chosen a different path, I don't want to argue with them, I pray for them. They don't need to know it, it just irritates them. I don't however like your Special Olympics comment. #1 it is not original, and #2 it is ignorant and rude.

Was that little "retard" comment your own? Maybe that's why people throw rocks at you. As far as I'm concerned, retard is right up there with the n-word.

BTW - you just tried to get your own point across, so the point to this whole post would be what exactly?

Greetings,
Do not worry about anything. We cannot be sure of ourselves, but we are sure of the Word of God(the Bible).Read The Bible and ask God to touch your life.Pray to him that you love him,and confess Jesus is The Son of God,who came down from heaven to earth so that whoever would believe in him might have eternal life. Thank him for each and every moment,he allows you to live, may it be good or bad. Know One thing for sure, that the Devil hates all of us because we all our made in Gods creation,And so he tempts us into sin and keep us away from God. The Devil knows the time is short for him.And so the evil days are here where Satan is going all around the world tormenting all souls, that we won`t reeach to heaven. And that at the End of time The Devil will be thrown into the lake of Fire, along with all those who worshipped and obeyed him.But ,also know that whoever believes in Jesus and follows whatever he said, and do all things good in life will be saved.

This message is for all from God.

Peace Be With you.

I just think you should have not stood up for the wrong thing....
or the kinds of people who are ruthless and have no love in their hearts. You were looking for acceptance from the wrong people.
Seeking acceptance from anyone actually is just a waste of time because when it all boils down to it...the only one who's opinion should matter to you is God's. (I am learning to do this myself.)
But if you believe in God then you probably shouldn't have defended people who don't and called them smarter because they ask questions. And just because a person may be intelligent doesn't mean they have love in their heart. Or are nice people. Intelligence doesn't make you nice.
And as far as the Christians who told you you were going to hell...that's just straight up wrong. You're not supposed to run around telling people that. I'm sorry you had to experience that.

But God Bless anyway.

You have demonstrated your own point. "Human beings are naturally cruel". We all say and do unintentionally cruel things. The question is, do we learn from our mistakes.

i have been able to get my point across on the internet many times,(when i really want to), even have had several relationships born of it.
the problem possibly lays within your semantics and the way it seems you circle around your point in the first place.
