Darwinism is an alternative name given by some instead of using the word evolution.
You must first understand that the scientific definition of the word "Theory" does not mean a guess but is something that has been investigated and proven with repeatable tests.
Evolution is a proven fact.
I see some of your respondents have claimed that Darwin "changed his mind" about evolution. This is a lie.It is propaganda that was started by a Lady Hope who was a well known christian evangelist of the time.
By the way,Darwin was not an atheist,he was agnostic.

1. Darwinism (which is only a small and somewhat outdated part of the evolutionary theory) and/or Evolution does not exclude the existence of a divine being. It simply does not believe in the being constantly interacting with his/her creation. Nobody says the big bang could NOT have been initiated by 'god'.....
2. There are many open questions regarding evolution - yes, it is a theory, but it is the most valid one we have at the moment....the big mistake all the 'intelligent design' folks (creationists) make is to assume that open issues in evolution supports the argument of intelligent design..... you will NOT find a serious scientist in the world that holds that view.
3. You can absolutely believe in a higher power/supreme being/god whatever you want to call it without 'subscribing' to any of the religions offered out there.....
4. There are probably tons of 'religions' where people believe in the existence of aliens... if you want to believe or not...that is up to you....

BTW i am sure there will be some morons telling you that Darwin renounced all his findings on his death bed..... nothing more than an urban legend.

Charles Darwin did not create Darwinism. The word "Darwinism" wasn't used till very recently (probably just within the past decade). Darwin presented the "Survival of the Fittest", claiming only the strong species within nature survive - which is proven over and over within the animal kingdom.

In this respect, there is no such thing as Darwinism - whoever told you this is merely spreading false information and you should correct them on that point, at the least.

Seperate religion from god? Religion is the belief in God(s), without religion, you don't have a belief in God(s). And yes, there are alien-based religions. As for Science and Religion - science is the study of our physical world, religion is Belief in something NOT of this physical world... at times they connect on different levels, but they are not dependent on each other at all.

Classic Darwinism, as with most old science, has simply given way to more accurate and improved theories that better explain the workings of life. As a base though, it wasn't half bad, and was a serious step forward for biological science back in the days when it first came about, and much of what Charles Darwin discovered is still quite valid.
Darwin just failed to account for the primary breeding factor in his fascination with merely living. That was accounted for in what is generally termed Neo-Darwinism.

Now, don't you feel silly when a Badger knows more about the works of a human than another human does?
You hairless apes crack me up sometimes.

There is no such thing as Darwinism. Evolution is the process that best explains the diversity of life on Earth. There are many theories on the exact mechanisms evolution uses to produce this divergence. There is no need for a god.

You're asking a million questions - take it one at a time.

I'll answer your "main" one... Darwinism is dead. The theory of evolution is much more complex, feasible, and informed than classic darwinism.

To say that people came from plankton is not only wrong but a gross over-simplification of the process. If you're actually curious (which I doubt) there are tons of science books that can increase your understanding.

In the end, Darwin himself didn't believe in it. They haven't yet found any evidence or missing links and there should be thousands. But they have found evidence of biblical events, Noah's Ark, the shroud of Turin, etc... evidence which is denied by many. At least there is some evidence. I don't see that at all with evolution.

But one thing I think they are right about ... is ...The Big Bang Theory, except it's not in the beginning of time, it's at the end.

Darwinism is really the belief in survival of the fittest. Only the strong survive, it was tied into darwins theory by saying that we evolve by continuing to be the best and outdoing the weak.

Science and religion need each other.

Much of what Darwin said was true but evolution is not an Atheistic concept. Genesis talks about evolution "and God said let the earth bring forth the creatures of the sea "

Evolution is Gods method of creation.

I personally believe in God, and do not have a religion, to me God doesn't have a definition. so I don't know why people fight about religion so much.
I believe both in science and God.
Darwin didn't say that there is no God, he just said that we didn't come from Adan and Eve, but we evolutionized.
