Atheists and Christians alike. For the skeptic, no proof is enough, for the believer, no proof is necessary. So is no proof I give you of God being real gonna be enough? I could tell you I have spoke in other tongues, but you will tell me I was just babbeling and putting on. I can tell you Ive sen an angel, but you would call me a liar. so there is no point trying to convince you, so from now on Im gonna stop wasting my time on those that don want the truth, and going after those that are hungry for it.

Non-believers are what they are because they have not been enabled to believe by the Holy Spirit of God
Just pray for them and keep planting seeds........
You never know who we're going to meet in heaven someday. It may be someone from here that you witnessed to.

"For the skeptic, no proof is enough" where did you get this gem of an idea? But considering the "proof" you cited, it would appear to be true. Personal experience can be very inspirational but it is not evidence, as any believer in any religion can and will put forth their personal experience. Tongues is an interesting example, but other religions also have similar ones - if you spoke in tongues and an impartial observer identified it as a obscure dialect that only a handful of people spoke, that might be considered evidence.
You really need to understand what constitutes evidence, proof and truth, and you need to understand that making a claim or assertion, even if it seems like self evident truth to you, is not the same as presenting evidence or proof.
Consider this: proof and or evidence for things that exist is completely possible, difficult perhaps but possible. I would consider evidence of a global flood to be strong evidence as well as evidence for the Exodus, for a good example of how not to present evidence, watch "The Exodus Decoded" or any "Naked Archaeologist" show on the history channel or objectively read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail". All of these examples sound completely reasonable until you look at the facts behind them, you'll find that they are built on false assumptions.

The real problem with your "proofs" is that they cannot be substantiated and there are simply too many more believable explanations. You say you spoke in tongues, but if we test that with the scientific method, we can introduce too many other possible explanations to accept that it was God. There are numerous explanations for your angel sighting. Given that multitude of possibilities, we simply cannot come to the absolute conclusion that your experiences were caused by a god. THAT is the problem. If there were no other possible explanation, you might have some proof.

Here's a suggestion: Read "Why We Believe What We Believe" and "Why God Won't Go Away" both having Andrew Newberg as the principal author. These works might help you to understand how the brain operates regarding belief. Having a bit more understanding might help you be a bit more open-minded about other people's beliefs and a trifle less absolute.

It's not a waste of time. If Christians remained in our churches, only teaching the gospel to other Christians, how are we to reach unbelievers and tell them of the gospel? As frustrating as it can get, we have a responsibility to speak the word of God no matter what. You may not reach them immediately but you are either planting or watering a seed in their lives. There have been atheist converted to Christianity in the process of disproving the gospel. The more they studied to prove Christianity to be lies, the more they really learned about God. Keep doing what God wants you to do by planting those seeds and watering those seeds. That's our responsibility.

As an atheist I can say that I would only need adequate proof. And thinking about it logically unless you're claiming to be god then you can't possibly provide proof because you're not adequate to the task. You have no godly abilities so you're incapable of displaying a level of proof that would be adequate for even a moderately skeptical person.
This tired worn out old boring subject of proof always leads to the question "what would prove it". The answer is I can't think of what would prove it and I don't need to think about it.
Because according to the mythology this god is omniscient and an omniscient being would know what would convince me even if I don't. So if there were a god he would know what would convince me.
Anyone convinced of the divine by a mere human is capable of being convinced of any absurdity. To play devils advocate for a moment. Drawing on your own mythology isn't it just as possible that your 'speaking in tongues' comes from satan? In fact it's just as possible that all of what organized religion follows comes from satan as from your god. You're so eager to believe that a powerless human convinced you surely satan could do even better...
In fact if I were satan I could have the worlds organized religions following me within a month because none of them demand even a little proof. In fact you personally would already be dancing at the end of my strings.

After decades of street work, preaching and witnessing Ive encountered many atheists and after a brief conversation i have found in almost every case they don't believe in what they preach. They are wanting attention and take a negative position to what am lost all have professed they know is true but refuse that it is that simple that God will save any who comes to them. They have believed the world saying if it is too good to be true it probally isn't. That is what is great about God. He defies logic, reason and gave himself for all and no one deserve it. Here on R&S its easy to
be bold because your not really confronted by God you have security in your anominity.

I am a believer.BUT--the tongues thing is a bit off.You need to be able to preach the gospel in another human language.Tongues is a sign gift to reach unsaved jews. Why else do Missionaries spend 2 and 3 years learning a foreign language.

Thank you. For the skeptic, proof is required. Telling them something isn't the same as proving something. You can tell, but can you prove? As for the truth, can you prove that YOU know the truth?

I witness all the time & when I have to I speak. [barrowed quote]. God said my word will never come back to me void, so if we don't speak or demostrate it how will they hear or see it. God spoke to me once & said you keep planting the sead & I will give the growth. I'd rather offend man by telling the truth than offend God by not telling it. Remember Jesus said my sheep hear my voice & they follow me, what if in your witness a bystander is a lost sheep that hears His voice & another lost sheep comes home. Peace & Love!

You say "no proof is enough" for a skeptic, but where is there any "proof" at all that Christianity is genuine? Christianity is about having blind and deaf faith, oblivious to logic and reason, which Christians consider tools of the devil.
