I actually posted something on how I actually agree with the way they think to some extent, I defended them....

And wow...there they are calling me a idiot.

Isn't life ironic?

Thanks for defending us.

Personally I don't like to verbally assault poeple, as I know from my own soft skinned experience how much it can hurt.

Perhaps the tougher are the more callous.

I've received the same negative response after defending a Christian's right to whichever faith he prefers. Apparently, it's not enough to agree that people have a right to their own beliefs. Christians are obviously more interested in furthering hatred and division, than in finding ANY type of consensus with an atheist. How is it possible to reason with those who willfully avoid reason for the sake of superstition? It's not, and that's why otherwise good people are reduced to name-calling.

In fairness, I suppose I could also ask -- how is it possible to find fellowship with those who willfully deny faith for the sake of scientific truth? It's not, and that's why otherwise good people are reduced to name calling.

The real dispute isn't about religious issues, it's about how people define reality. Believers are generally solipsists and imagine their subjective (perceptual) experience is real. Atheists are generally scientists and know that only the objective (physical) realm is actually real. That's the underlying reason why the two groups have apparently irreconcilable differences.

Now hold on a sec..... I went into your profile and tried to find you "defending" atheists..... and I saw a post where you agreed with someone who made a very blanketed and very false statement about atheists. That's not defending, that's supporting a false opinion on atheists and furthering the stereotype that all you people are ignorant and egotistical. I mean, after what i read in your previous posts about atheists.... ONE case of defending atheists is hardly enough for atheists to start seeing you in a different light and be friendly towards you for defending them. I mean, come on....

I take back my thank you, and I say you're an idiot. I didn't read your post defending, but when you make many stupid comments about atheists and ONCE you defend them.... it doesn't really have much of an impact.... especially when you go back to talking crap about them.

I'd like to see this post where you defended an atheist. Let's see it!

I never saw your question and thus did not answer. It seemed fair to me though as far as you defending the atheists. Nobody every claimed that either side was completely free of ignorance.

As an atheist... even if I help the Christians they're still not happy... it "works" both ways.

The problem is that both atheists & Christians don't agree on everything.

Also - in defending the atheists... you may have had no idea what you were talking about... and therefore you had it coming...?

Sorry, I only see rants in your profile. So whatever minor point you may have made in our defense, really doesn't change the fact that you are very attention starved. So hey, if someone called you an idiot, consider they could be right.

I think based on what I've seen of your posts, you're likely to get someone from every side calling you an idiot. It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with you.

They weren't calling you an idiot because you defended them. It was because you were rambling and implying that people even know who you are.

We don't need your defense.

I didn't post to your other question. I chose to skip it.

If you defend atheism, you can't be an idiot (by definition), because you know the truth of at least one thing (atheism)
