I moved to NYC a bit ago to attend college, and left my cat with my mother in Perth, Australia. She's moving now, and can't take the cat where she is going. How do I get my cat over here? Who do I contact, etc? Any information would be very helpful... Thanks so much!

There are several pet taxi services that will transport
your beloved cat to New York (door to door, if you like). Check online http://www.pettravel.com. If money is no object, be prepared to spend a lot (about the same as flying a child). Quarantine is much easier on a cat from Australia to U. S.
Get rabies vaccine today, if not current.

All airlines are used to carrying pets and you can get a special catbox from them for the purpose. Just ask the airline of your choice. The only problem would be quarantine in the USA - if there is any. You would need to check with the US quarantine service. There is no problem at the Australian end.

Contact the nearest taxidermist and have it stuffed. That way, you will save money and the cat won't have to go into quarantine.

By the way, we already have too many cats here.
