I wondered about that all last season. Was in some way, Seylar telling the truth when he said he was the hero and Peter was the villain.

Peter is getting all these powers. And power corrupts. Now he doesn't know who he is.

It makes me wonder if it doesn't follow the old hero turned to villain who seeks eventual redemption type of plot. Like Anikan becoming darth vader and then eventually redeeming himself at the end with his death.

Is this the fate of Peter Petrelli? At the end of the series?

After seeing the starwars sequels, you feel genuinely bad for Anikan and all he went through. Would make sense as to what is happening to this point

It looked like he was going to become a villian in this show ... likely the hitman for those who were marked.

I always viewed Peter Petrelli as a hero. He just was overwhelmed by the powers he absorbed. He, himself, was afraid of what might happen in the end. He didn't want to blow anyone up, he was just always trying to help save the world. In the end it was Nathan, whom I thought was a villain, who did the heroic act though and saved everyone.
Apparently the new season kicked off yesterday, but unfortunately I don't get it, I have to wait until it comes available to be downloaded. So, I am really curious about what happened next.

edit: I think Sylar is an evil man. His intentions were always for personal gain. And whether or not he showed a softer side with his mother, his evil side still prevailed.

I was a bit nervous at the end of last season when he blew up at Isaac and stuff. But I find it hard to believe that he'll stay bad (if he becomes bad) if Claire's there. Claire is kinda his purpose in some ways. He's been more of a father than Nathan ever will.

As for Peter's current state of mind, I put current blame in Nathan. That mirror image that Nathan saw kinda set off the alarm in my head. I think that Nathan struck a deal with someone, turning in his brother for his own well-being. It wouldn't be the first time, would it? Besides, why else would Nathan's mom say "You killed your brother?"

That's not to say that I don't love Nathan. I just think that if we should worry about either of the Petrelli brothers becoming evil, it's Nathan.

But you're very right...power=corrupt. As cliche as this sounds, a true hero can look beyond that.

Peter's a hero and Sylar's a head-cutting, manipulative liar. Peter doesn't know who he is right now, but I believe that's more from the nuclear blast than from "power corrupts". The shock wave alone could have caused neural damage and it takes time to heal from that degree of damage. I'd be more concerned about Nathan personally, because he's having a breakdown, from the blast, from the fact that he believes his brother is dead, and from the fact that he knows his mother is also a manipulative lying witch. Not to mention Claire who's hormones are going wild, who's getting the urge to "rebel" because she's just at that age and no one is really considering what's happening to her. If Bennett thought he had problems before, there isn't anything worse than a rebellious teen. I know - I was one, and I had one.

Apparntly peter petrelli is in the second season. i think sylar is evil but in the last few episodes you begin to see a different side of him (like with his mother) that kinda show the way he is. Peter is a hero because he was willing to sacrifice himself to save all of NYC.

Hope that helped...

Sylar is a villian and I think Peter might be now too, this show is kind of slow and sometimes hard to keep up with because it flip flops so much, I do like the show though and am glad its back on so I can figure out wtf is going on!

I thought the same thing. But I don't think Sylar is a hero.

Peter's the good guy or he would have just blown up and not tried to save everyone first
