Imagine if you lost a diamond ring - perhaps it was your grandmother's passed down from generation to generation...maybe it is from your fiance' or husband... how would you feel if you lost it? Finder's keepers doesn't even work out well on the playground much less in real life. Give it back! Someone will be very happy about your honesty.

Depends on what kind of person you are and what kind of person you want to be. If you want to be a good, honest person, you should return it. Now, if you want to keep it, and be a liar, then by all means, keep it. Think about if you were the owner of the ring. Would you want someone to keep it or give it back to you if you found it?

Return it. It will never make you happy, as you know that the person who lost it feels badly.
You don't even have to tell her the truth. You could say that you just found it, under the door, or behind the toilet, or glittering away in the bottom of the trash can.

Give the ring back. Just tell them that you just found it. Put yourself into their position, you'd want someone to return your property (expensive sentimental property) wouldn't you?
Karma can be a B....H, do the right thing and make someone's day.

I say give it back. You don't even have to say that you've had it all this time. You can act like you just found it or even turn it in anonymously. But, whatever you do, I def. think you should turn it back in. Like, skeet monroe said, there's already been an owner to show up and claim it and imagine how she must be feeling. If you had lost something like that you would want that person to be honest and turn it back in.

a diamond ring has monetary value but more importantly they have sentimental value....either a family heirloom...an engagement or anniversary present and i am sure this woman is just beside herself with grief over losing it. i think you should return it but now that you have denied having it this could be tricky...i would mail it anonymously to the girl at work with private and confidential on the envelope and no return address or sender information. or i would leave it on or in her desk where she will find it.. she does not care how it got there she will just be overjoyed to have it back

simply leave the ring on the owner's desk, where she/he can see it. No questions asked. But it raises the question: how did a diamond ring get in the toilet? Was she / he wiping with it??

Not unless you have absolutely no morals! You clearly have no sense of right and wrong if you even have to ask this question. Return the ring.

Deception and theivery are never things you want to grow accustomed to. It's not too late to give it back, I know the owner would understand why you kept it, the important thing would be that you gave it back.

If you didn't return and possess and kind of conscience, the guilt would eat you alive.
