Many believers say that all bad things that happen to them are tests from God : everything from stubbing a toe to accidentally dropping a wedding band down a drain to a debiliating illness.

If God loves you back so much, why would he allow these things to happen? This sounds much more like he would be toying with someone rather than protecting them.

well, some of your examples are ridiculous. sometimes stubbing your toe is just you being clumsy.

but there is a reason for trials from God.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
(Rom 5:3-4)

The ultimate goal is to conform us to the image of Christ. Tribulation works patience. It also works sympathy for others.

And finally - we need to be reminded that the things of the earth pass away and we should focus on the eternal.

God does not tell us in the bible that he is some celestial wish-granting machine. It is not God's goal to give us whatever it is we think we desire. neither is it his goal to prevent us from all harm. His goal is for us to grow to be more like him.

Eleventy: Do you mean to say that because man is not perfect, there must not be a God?

God's Love is rarely-ending, uncomprimised and authentic. David in the old testomony knew he grow to be making a mistake by utilising commiting adultury. he knew that he grow to be rebeling against God while he commanded that a census be taken. those are only 2 errors he made and he knew the two situations yet David yet God nonetheless enjoyed him no matter what, and he forgave him everytime. Jesus advised Peter he might deny him three times, and Peter understanding did that. to make a screw up and to continuously say "im human" isnt precise, sure all of us are human and specific we isn't suitable. many human beings conceal at the back of that because of the fact its an project-free excuse, simple as that. the nice and cozy button is God will forgive in case you extremely ask and propose it, it has to return from the coronary heart and it doesnt propose youll in no way try this returned, because of the fact if that grow to be the case then properly, none human beings might ever make it to heaven.

Tell your teacher at school she doesn't love you because she gives you test. The test that your teacher gives you will be of no benefit to her, but should benefit you unless you flunked it. Try and realize that self denial and servitude our virtues that provide a person with character.Try to open your mind up and say this might be hard but God is on my side and He and I together will pass this test and I will be better than ever before. This test is given to you by God because He does Love you.

Why does God test people? First to get our attention, second to teach us a valuable lesson, and third to see if we are learning anything.

God has a purpose for our problems, and that is to fix us.
Job 23:10
2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Yes even us who are saved need to be fixed. We have this flesh to contend with. There is always a blessing in our curses. Sometimes they are hard to see but they are there.

Deke, God doesn't test us so HE can see what we're made of; He knows everything, even before it happens! Instead, He permits us to be tested so WE can see what we're made of. The Bible tells us that we are each tempted (i.e. tested) by whatever tempts us. How will I know that I have a certain weakness unless I am tempted? And how will I prove to God that I love Him if I don't show Him that I can -- time and time again -- turn toward Him instead of toward my temptations? That's why the Bible tells us that we should actually rejoice when we are tested: it gives us a chance to prove our love for God.

Perhaps you don't understand the concept of tests. Have you ever gone to high school? Maybe not. Because if you had, you would understand that tests do not merely determine how much we know, but it helps us to see for ourselves where we are lacking.

Furthermore, the testing from God is to strengthen us, not to determine if we actually love Him or not. He already knows that.

Finally, you blame God for human errors and weaknesses. How foolish of you! Like, "Oh, wow! God made me stub my toe!" when you just weren't paying attention!

Or you go have sex then contract aids or some other std and then you foolishly blame God, as though HE gave it to you!

Sounds like YOU'RE toying with nonsensical ideas and tearing down straw men that you created in the vain imagination of the mind.

Why not ask a legitimate question and save yourself the embarrasment of having to clean up all the straw you left behind? A word to the wise: asking questions like this only makes YOU look like a fool, and you sure don't want THAT, now do you? ("It is better to be though of as a fool, then to open one's mouth and remove all doubts.")

One additional comment:

When you are being tempted to sin, don't say that God tempted you. God neither tempts to sin, nor is He able to be tempted to sin. (Don't get "tests" confused with "temptations", and don't get "temptations" confused with "sin". Furthermore, don't get "tests" confused with human weakness. Common sense goes a long way.

Just the same way He tested Abraham with his son Isaac, He tests us.....albeit.....not by asking us to kill our own children.

And like I always say:
It's not for us to understand the why or the how when it comes to God.......it's a matter of belief, faith & trust

There are many levels to the test you speak of and each test is designed for each.

He wouldn't. Not only would he have the knowledge of any "test results" before the trial, he could also (being all-powerful) invoke whatever benefit the test would have been without the test. The parenting analogy is weak. God could give us that knowledge, that strength, etc without us feeling pain.
