I don't board my dogs, I have a petsitter come in. I have 2 large dogs. She comes over and feeds, walks the dogs and charges me $40 a Day (3 visits) Expensive..Yes, but my dogs are in their home, not stressed and are comfortable with the petsitter. Worth it to me..

I agree with berner mom. A dog sitter is a wonderful solution and worth the money. I am a professional dog sitter and my clients tell me they never worry about the pets or their home while they are away either on vacation or business travel.. My sister does board her dogs occasionally and I often have to pick them up for her so I know the kennel she goes to charges $16.00 a day plus $3.00 for a 15 minute walk. Any grooming is extra, depending on what is done. I charge $15.00 per visit, stay for about an hour, the final visit of the day, if possible I stay with the dogs for 2 hours. They get a good long walk daily anywhere from 1/2 an hour to an hour, in the morning, included in the fee. Of course they get fed and played with and just regular doggie attention. The mail & newspaper get brought in, garbage set out, plants watered, lights & shades adjusted and so on. Almost everyone has me come in 3 or 4 times a day. But if you must use a kennel, talk to several and find one that you feel the most comfortable with even if it is the most expensive. Don't let your pocketbook determine the welfare of your dog while you are away. We are in suburban Pittsburgh, PA. This might all be more expensive elsewhere.

It depends on where you are. Here in Idaho it's about $12-15 per day, plus $1.00 per 15 minute walk.

Call around and ask, then go visit any kennels you are considering. Choose one that is clean, and that will take your dog out of the kennel for walks or play in a fenced area.
