The Bible says we must be baptized and filled with the holy ghost after having faith in Jesus to be saved. Not one place in the bible is anybody baptized in the name of the father, son and holy ghost, but in the name of Jesus Christ they were all baptized. Like my friend Rachelle, she is an aunt, a daughter and a sister, but her name is Rachelle. I believe the Godhead works this way. That is why we must be baptized in Jesus name. (By Submersion)
John 3:3-5 says we must be born again of water and of spirit to enter the kingdom of heaven. Of water means baptism which I just explained, but spirit can be summed up with the filling of the Holy Ghost. The evidence I believe is speaking with other tongues or tongues of angels as the spirit gives utterance. The scripture that supports that is in additional details. So I know by hard study to show myself approved that thre is 3fold to salvation. Profess and Repent of your sins to Jesus. Be baptized in his name. And recieve holy ghost.

Acts 10: 44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Yes

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

His name is Jesus Christ.

Not exactly. I do not believe that baptism is a requirement to enter the kingdom of heave. I do not think John 3:3-5 refers to baptism. When I read the passage I take the reference of "born of water" to mean physical human birth because the following verse (3:6) says, "flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." There is no reference in the passage to baptism.

I believe that only faith is required to get to heaven. "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

I have been both sprinkled and baptized in water. Sprinkled as a child not by choice, submersed as an adult of my choosing. I believe that becoming a Christian and being saved have little to do with the act of Baptism itself. We are baptized out of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, he was pure of sin and yet he was baptized. We are to be baptized because Christ set the example. Will baptism or submersion in water save us? Not at all, for it is by grace that we are saved, not by deed. If you are baptized out of obedience but do not live for the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart 24/7 than it is really a waste of time. Baptism to me was a proverbial coming out of the closet for me as a Christian. It was saying "Hey I am choosing to live for the Lord Jesus Christ, and now I am asking that the world as my witness hold me accountable for my actions."

All Glory be to the God, for he alone is worthy of our praise.

I agree that your friend is named Rachelle.

(Oh, were you hoping for more? Hm, well, that is really all I agree with here.)

Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Eph 1:13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
Eph 1:14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved--
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
1Co 12:4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;
1Co 12:5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;
1Co 12:6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
1Co 12:7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
1Co 12:8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
1Co 12:9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
1Co 12:10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
1Co 12:11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
1Co 14:1 Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.
1Co 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.
1Co 14:3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.
1Co 14:4 The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.
1Co 14:5 Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.
1Co 14:6 Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?
1Co 14:7 If even lifeless instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone know what is played?
1Co 14:8 And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle?
1Co 14:9 So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? For you will be speaking into the air.
1Co 14:10 There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning,
1Co 14:11 but if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me.
1Co 14:12 So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.
1Co 14:13 Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray for the power to interpret.
1Co 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful.
1Co 14:15 What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.
1Co 14:16 Otherwise, if you give thanks with your spirit, how can anyone in the position of an outsider say "Amen" to your thanksgiving when he does not know what you are saying?
1Co 14:17 For you may be giving thanks well enough, but the other person is not being built up.
1Co 14:18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.
1Co 14:19 Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.
1Co 14:20 Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.
1Co 14:21 In the Law it is written, "By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord."
1Co 14:22 Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers.
1Co 14:23 If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds?
1Co 14:24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,
1Co 14:25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.
1Co 14:26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.
1Co 14:27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret.
1Co 14:28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God.
Perhaps these verses will be of interest to you in your above discussion.....
We are to baptize in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as a command given to us by Christ himself;
I Cor. 15:3-8 give us a skeletal view of what the gospel is.... The good news of Christs birth, life, death, and resurrection ... Our God becoming flesh to purchase us with the only sacrifice acceptable to the Father... the price of his blood paying the consequecial cost of our sin, and when we by faith in Him, his work on the cross being complete; The Bible says we are marked in him with a seal the promised Holy Spirit who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance. The Lord is the one who gifts us in HIs Holy Spirit as He wills for his work to be done, and we are to use the gifts he gives us... It is false to limit just the speaking in tongues, there are many believers who do not have that gift, but other gifts used for building up the body of Christ...for Gods glory... There appear to be two reasons for the use of tongues, in a church setting only with the use of an interpreter, not in confusion, and only 1 at a time with the most being three who speak and only with an interpreter or that one is to be silent; so as not to frighten someone... it is not a gage of spirituality or even a confermation of salvation, for the devil will also mimic and give gifts of tongues..... we are to test the spirit and see if it is from God; our Use of scripture to validate and correct our use of gifts for the Lord is helpful; Tongues are for one who speaks to God, so prayer between the person and God... and also another use is in bringing a message of Christ in someones own birth language as to be a means to share the truth of Christ and validate his message. Beyond that we do not have liberty if we are to obey the Lord. By grace we have been saved by faith..... God giving his unmerited favor has removed the veil from our eyes so we can believe in him when we turn from our sin; to the living God who forgives us rebirths us; born of God and seals us in his Spirit. Perhaps this has been helpful..... blessings!!
