There's a story about 2 traveling monks who'd taken a vow of chastity and celibacy. They came to a river and found a woman there unable to cross.
She asked one of the monks if he would carry her accross on his back, and he agreed. When they reached the other side, he set her down and she thanked him for his kindness and the monks continued on their way.
They walked in silence for a couple of hours, but the other monk couldn't stop thinking about how his brother monk had touched a woman, even though it was to help her. He was feeling jealous. Finally he said "Brother, how could you touch that woman? We have our vows to think of."
To which the first monk replied "I put her down 2 hours ago. How long will you carry her around?"

Carrying a grudge is very heavy since it keeps always in your mind the trauma that caused you to begin the grudge. It keeps you angry, which has bad effects on your body as well as your mind. And it occupies territory which could be used to hold happy thoughts and memories.
However, many people who hold grudges do so because it gives them a constant proof of how much better they are than the other person, so it is often very difficult to give it up.

Depends on the grudge. It would be easier not to carry any grudge at all, but then the hard part is learning to let go.

It's like having the weight of the world on your shoulders, when you hold a grudge. It eats away at you, and occupies your mind. It's easier to just let it go....whatever the person may have done, they will get there's! Remember Karma...what goes around comes around!
And why waste your time holding a grudge, when it won't accomplish anything? Just another way for that person to control you....let it go!

NO GRUDGE ABOUT IT TURN THE WORST OVER TO GOD
2Tim.3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I think it's easy to hold a grudge but in time it will weigh heavy on you and it will get harder to hold. So letting it go as soon as you can is better for you. Forgiveness frees you.

When you understand how insignificant this world is compared to the next, it's easy to let it go. A grudge is a burden no one needs.

Well, I'm not sure what a grudge is. I'm still angry over a former employer who really did defraud me. It isn't just the money, it's the friendship I thought we had. The lying.
I hadn't considered forgiveness because it hasn't been asked.
If I had the chance to get some kind of revenge, I probably would.
