On my lower abs....Didnt hurt...Felt odd, like intense vibrations..for obvious reasons...The discomfort came for me when the guy wiped away the blood, each time he brushed over the area, it stung..

If you are 'quit flaky and changeable' then most probably you will regret it!!

You're being a bit hard on yourself there... If you want one, all I think is dont get one thats going to be visable to anyone on a daily basis and just think, you choose (whatever design) because it reflects a period of your life and how you felt then...

Just dont get a cartoon character or name of partner....or something like that...!!

No, it's more like a vibrator running slowly across your skin, so it doesn't hurt unless you have a tattoo on skin that's really close to the bone. This is why back tattoos can hurt.
No, I didn't get an infection. I washed it 2/3 times a day with anti-bacterial handwash and applied Sudocrem after every wash. I like Sudocrem because it's thick and you can see it stays in place. Some others swear by Savlon and even Vaseline. Either way, don't apply moisturiser of any kind. You need the scab to dry up and fall off (definitely don't pick or rub it), which is something that Sudocrem helps with.
Lastly, stick to cotton clothing until the scab falls off. Your skin will breathe easier, especially when it drives you mad with itching (also definitely don't scratch even near the tattoo)!

Tattoo's do hurt, but it is very mild and more of just a sunburn kind of pain. It depends though what your pain threshold is... something that you would find tickly would be agony to someone else. It also depends where you get it...

As for regrets... I have 4 and don't regret any of them. I take 2 years to think about it. If in that time I am still confident enough I want it I go for it.

If you think you will regret it I would wait, if you regret it before getting it you will most certainly regret it once it's on.

Good luck!

Do they hurt?
Yes, in some places more than others.

Have I regretted mine?
No

Will you regret it?
Quite possibly. Sounds like you are getting one just for the sake of getting one. You should spend time picking out something you just can't live without, and researching a Great artist to do it for you. If you just walk in to the shop down the street and pick something off the wall, the odds are good you won't be too happy with it.

I'd recomend getting one in a place that wont change much if you gain/ lose weight or as you age. I have one on my calf and so far its held up well. But as far as pain and infection, i didnt have any problem with infection. Just gotta let it air out. When it scabs over, DONT PICK THE SCABS! When you pick at it, it takes some of the color so it will look faded. But honestly, it hurt more the next day than it did getting it done. Just make sure when your getting it done you drink water and remember to breath, its easy to hold your breath. But mine is Tinkerbell, its something i'll always like, i'd say you should pick something that you've always liked and go with it.

I have 11 of them, 2 of which I'm in the process of having removed. Tattoos are great, and really not all that painful. I have been tattooed in some VERY sensitive areas, and I don't think it's that bad. I almost slept through the big ones on my hips, and hips are told to be very painful. They're easy to take care of. You just wash with soap and water gently twice a day, and put on either a plain lotion, or A&D ointment ( I actually use vasoline in very thin layers) you don't want it soggy, but you don't want it dry either.
if you get one, make sure it's something you'll still love in 5 years.

Yes, the hurt, no, I don't regret them (I have 3).

It's not any more likely to get infected than any other wound. Have you ever had a scrape? That's about how hard a tattoo is to take care of.

Only you can answer the "Will I regret it?" question.

hurts a lil bit, you won't die. if you choose a design that is special and meaningful for you, then you won't regret it for the rest of your life, if you choose something that someone else has or something really tacky, silly or no meaning to you, then you won't be happy after a few years.

i have 2 tats, and one i have designed myself, the other one I was looking for 2 years, but when I found the design, I was well pleased.

after you get your tattoo done, don't scratch it, it will be feeling sore for a day or 2 depends on your body. then it will start scabbing after 4-5 days maybe for about a week or so, apply some Vaseline lotion or something to keep your skin soft.

It depends on your pain threshold.. but yeah it does hurt a little in some delicate places but if your having one done on your arm or your leg i found that my arms and legs went numb after a while and i didn't feel a thing mind u i do have hardly any feeling in my left arm anyways due to a bike accident 4 yrs ago but no tattoo's aren't as bad as people will tell you...
go for it

i have loads and i love everyone of them and i do not regret any of them even the one on my bum :)

i have 5 tattoos and i love them all, i have quite a high pain tollerance so the 4 i have on my upper arms and upper back did not hurt, they were a bit uncomfortable for a few days after they were done though, however the 1 on my upper thigh did hurt a bit.

aftercare is simple, keep them clean and moisturise them regularly to stop your skin drying out, do not scratch them nor pick at the scabs, do not go on sun beds for at least 2 weeks even after that, cover your tat to protect it.

be certain of the design you want and where you want it, you are stuck with it for a long time, having said that you can always have it covered up.

good luck
